[$25 Picture Contest] Best nature photo from a smartphone
#1
1
Winner gets $25 cash

Rules

  • Must include some sort of nature in the shot. This means mountains, flowers, animals, clouds, oceans, rivers, plants, trees etc etc etc... The shot can include other things in the picture, such as people or buildings.
  • Up to 3 entries per person
  • Shot must be your own work, and from a phone
  • Winner will not necessarily be selected by quality of the photo, but quality will be a factor. What's more important is 'coolness' or 'uniqueness' of your shot.
  • Photos can be PhotoShopped / edited in any way you wish, as long as it's made up only of your own work.
  • Everybody join in the fun. Even if you think your shot isn't so great. Do it to contribute
  • When posting the photo, also post the type of phone the photo came from.
  • Winner will be selected by popular vote. Any user may enter the contest, however only votes by users with 3 posts or more will count towards the final tally.
  • Prize money paid only through PayPal

My entry from THL T11

Ants like to stay cool too. I put some ice in a bucket and some fell on the side. The ants went crazy and came running to the cool melted water.

Change of details. The winner will be chosen by random, not by vote.

Here's my entry from THL T11 as well. This little guy gave me some trouble

And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

I was trying to get into my car, when I notice them on the top (of my car).
They let me get close to ~10-12cm for about 20 sec and I took over 20 pics getting closer and closer. Obviously, they were too busy to be obstructed!

This is cropped from a 13mp file but it is clear enough!

Sunset at Fraisthorpe beach, East Yorkshire. The objects on the shoreline are WW2 concrete machine gun bunkers built to defend the East coast against German invasion. Originally positioned on the cliff top but now stranded on the beach due to coastal erosion, the bunkers now host mussels, cockles and beards of green and brown seaweed. The tides have mined little pools around the concrete, providing habitats for small fish, crabs, shrimps and sea anemones. The photo was taken with a Samsung Galaxy Europa.
