Hi guys,
Recently scored a new V65 2G/32Gb that came pre-rooted with the 4.2.1 0808 ROM, it feels very quick and has no real issues other than BT compatability with one device I own.
It seems that I can't get the V65 to permanently authorise a pair with a car headunit - it's only able to pair temporarily for one session.
When I pair with my car's headunit (JVC KW-R700BT), the JVC offers a random 6-digit pin, but there's no corresponding PIN request popup on the phone.
The JVC will then connect when I press it's volume knob, becoming listed in "Paired Devices", and the BT features will work OK, but the pairing will be "forgotten" as as soon as either unit is disconnected, and they won't connect automatically when the JVC is next powered on.
I can only reconnect the V65 by doing the pairing process manually each time I want to use the unit, which is annoying as it requires you to fiddle with menus in both the JVC and the V65. The only popup after pairing is a PBAP phonebook transfer popup, which has Allow/Deny, and an option to Always Allow, but trying all 3 variations makes no difference to the issue
The JVC unit moves down to the "Available Devices" list once it's not connected (and disappears if you reboot). With other phones I had (S3, Note on 4.1 or earlier), the JVC was always listed in "Paired Devices", even when not in use, and connected automatically as soon as it was turned on.
The V65 is always listed as a paired phone in the JVC, but the JVC is not listed as a paired device in the V65 unless I've just manually paired it, which tells me that the V65 is probably the problem. The V65 has a couple of other BT devices (Sony watch, Toyota TomTom) that connected OK and always remained listed as "Paired Devices"
It seems 4.2.1 has a different way of connecting BT from earlier ROMs - I've tried the Bluetooth Fix and Bluetooth Connect apps but they don't seem to help. The JVC is running the latest firmware dated a year ago, and whilst I can specify the PIN code to be 0000 in the JVC's settings, it always offers the randomly-generated 6-digit one for the V65.
Any ideas?
