Bluetooth connectivity on THL W2

Hey everyone, I just joined so this is my first post.
I have a THL W2 phone for about a year now. It won't connect to my Sony XAV-64BTcar stereo via bluetooth.
Upon investigating, I see the Bluetooth version is 2.0 on my phone and my stereo is version 2.1+EDR (whatever that means)
Is it possible to upgrade the bluetooth on my phone? I am a noob when it comes to cell phones!

Unfortunately Bluetooth upgrades are generally hardware rather than firmware so it would not be possible. Because it is from 2.0 to 2.1 which might indicate a standalone firmware update it may be possible. BUT, if so, it would only come through a firmware update for the entire phone which is almost guaranteed not to happen, aside from a custom ROM.

Hmmm, gotcha.
I really like the phone and I have had two other THL phones I have been happy with. Its to bad the wholesalers wouldnt list the vesion of Bluetooth along with the rest of the specs.

What I think is the official THL site lists your phone has having BT 2.1:

I could be wrong. I'm having BT connectivity issues with my THL as well. Have you tried pairing it to other devices besides just that stereo?

Good find! Now hopefully it is just a firmware update and not a hardware revision. If so, then the latest firmware from THL should fix the problem.
