NASA's New Horizons Spacecraft Signals Successful Pluto Flyby
NASA’s Deep Space Network has received confirmation that the New Horizons spacecraft did indeed complete a spectacular flyby of the dwarf planet Pluto. More than 12 hours after its closest approach of some 7750 miles from Pluto’s icy surface, mission controllers announced that they had received a signal at 8:52 PM EDT tonight.
