Hi there guys,
First of all apologises if this is posted in the wrong section but, Im in desperate need of a little help! I purchased a HDC MTK 6589 on eBay last week, would just say what a great looking phone!! However my issue is that it just wont recognise any SIM card that I insert the phone. I bought the phone from a private seller who said that she had used it just a few weeks ago and it worked fine.
She used a 3 UK sim, T-Mobile SIM and a o2 UK SIM. I have tried a Orange UK SIM and a o2 UK SIM but I just cant get anything to work.
From what I can gather the phone just doesn't seem to pick up that a SIM is inserted as when I go to settings Mobile Networks is greyed out.
I have tried a hard reset, but thats not sorted anything. Im worried about doing a full factory reset because obviously it will remove the root and custom Samsung ROM.
I don't really want to send the phone back because like I said everything else is great!
Has anyone come across anything like this before? If so whats the solution!!
Thanks Dan
