Is it worth buying the iNew v3?

Even if I want to use video play, there is a solution. Get the proper youtube apk and there is no problem anymore!
Or use the mx player if you do not want to use the youtube app.
And I DIDN'T say that this phone is perfect.
I said this phone FOR ME is worthing every single cent I spent. There is no objective criteria when you comparing phones.
Tell me a perfect device according your opinion and I will find you a lot of problems or at least users with complains.

Opinions are like 'bum-holes', everyone's got them. So here's my 2pence worth.

Is the V3 worth it? I'll focus on the economic and ergonomic factors.

Economic - cheap phone, but good quality build for the money spent. Fast, good to handle, decent memory size (rom), but if you want more there is functioning OTG as well as micro-sd capability (i've got a 32gb in mine). Camera is very effective, both front & back (and before all the digital photography peeps come swooping in on the F2 scenario, for an average smartphone user taking snaps of moments in life, it is excellent and fast!). Signal speed can drop down sometimes on H+, but that's minor. Good volumes and audio effects.

Ergonomic - good size phone & screen ,good brightness too (bit too bright on lowest setting for me, so I use a filter). But ergonomically there's also been some thought into the design. I've owned a number of androids, and a number of chinese models. Compared for my clone S4 the V3 is exceptional value, and has a little 'wow' factor to boot ergonomically.

The downside - battery. For me this isn't an issue. As i've said before I charge at night; if needs be I plug it in whilst in the car, and can do so at work. If i'm out & about for longer periods / away, I also have a powerbank to hand. YES, the battery is a little light for the performance. YES, we'd all like a bigger battery available from the manufacturer, and YES, we all have the silly bug (which must be software related as i've seen similar before - last time on a Sony!) where a charge drops down to around 88% then sits, and with some use battery life can be a bit ropey on occasions. I use NQ Android Booster, Screen Filter, DS Battery Saver Pro, plus also have installed the Pure Performances android tweak to the V3 - when screen is off, no battery drain at all. Works for me!

But only you will make your mind up on this phone. I love it. I'd like the rom sorted for that battery bug, but elsewise, for the low price, I don't think you can go far wrong. Look around at the main brands - for phone only options, you'll be looking at 4-5x as much cash to buy one, where the performance will only be marginally better, and for why?

So there's my opinion. Some will agree, other's won't. Hope this helps you regardless.

You can also set brightness below "minimal" 20% with Xposed GravityBox module. I set mine at 5%, and it's perfect when in complete darkness.

Can you say which Sony model was that?

How extensive are the changes made by Pure Performances? I saw it also tweaks build.prop and other system files. Due to tons of features, I see it as a wild beast, so I guess I'll be making a complete nandroid backup before I decide to install it. I don't have severe battery issues like others, but would like to try it anyway. What are your experiences with it?

well I admit this is a sexy beutiful phone, light weight with great screen, nearly everything works fine, every phone even the 500$ have some glitches here and there, so that is no big deal to me, what makes it of little use to me and to most people that aren't happy with is the battery drain

so you say it is worth every cent you pay for all it gives to you, well I shall repeat again, thl w200s gives you all this phone does and something else (32 gigas internal memory, and octa core soc), and yes, it has otg also, gorilla glass 3 and I think nfc either, ant the prize is the same 199$, so as value per cent spent, v3 is no such wonder either, although I admit design is really nice, it does not pay for the weaker hardware, so it is not so good value for money to me

but that is my thought, I am not trying to convince anybody, only trying to help decide the yet undecided

The phone is fine Elsita. It's a very good deal for the money. It's got a somewhat short battery life. That's it. If 3 hours onscreen isn't enough, use an external charger which is a better option than having your phone tied to a charger anyways.

Yes, the THL W200S is a decent alternative.

And it's 20% more expensive than what I've paid for my V3. If I wanted to pay 20% more for a phone, I would pay 20% more, but I like cheap and nice looking phones Smiling Everything else (screen, performance, etc), I got as an added bonus Smiling

Thanks for all the replies guys - was really informative. Any other dual sim phones to consider in $200 price range?

Elista, I think its hard to give a comparison when you haven't gotten the phone yet. But please check yr facts. The w200s does NOT have NFC. It has OTG but not NFC. Also the camera is less resolution. I'm not denying that for some this is a valid alternative, but doubt that the battery life will be much better given the strain from the cores, it isn't much bigger in mah.

But again, opinions, everyone has them and I won't deny yours, I just disagree.

Burs, I had the 88% bug with the xperia u.

Pure performances seems good to me. Hard to tell, technically, but response seems improved, and deep sleep def takes effect.

In terms of gravitybox, where is this option? I've readyou mention it many times, but each time I've tried to use it iI can't seem to find the same options. Will take another look

actual price por inew v3 and for thl w200s is the same in most places 199$, that is not 20% more expensive to me, you may have had a great offer as I had when I bought my v3 for 166$, but I am sure you could get good offers soon for thl w200s, retail price is exactly the same in both models today

about nfc, nobody has the facts today, as nobody has even touched the real phone, the info we have comes from the sellers, and some sellers say yes, some say no, the seller with the most extended info is thlmobilestore and they say it does have NFC, so don't be so sure it hasn´t , because you may be confusing people

i know than someone from the store answers to someone asking for nfc it does not have it, but really I don't trust answers given by shops, they use to be right only 50% of the times in my personal experience

Thl are the ones saying no NFC. Look at their site and comments from the factory.
