Mtk 6572 (Doogee DG300) GPS not working (Even with EPO and AGPS): possible solution
#11
That phone is literally worth about $20. It was $80 2 years ago. Just because sellers are selling it for that doesn't mean it's worth that or people are buying it. You can get 64-bit Marshmallow 2GB MTK6735 720p IPS phones for $80 now.

You're basing your thoughts on a single 2 year old budget China phone with the most budget SoC. Even 2 years ago it was bottom of the line.

Frankly, regardless of price, this is ignorant... basing your conclusion on all China phones on a single 2 year old phone.

Just Google Samsung GPS no signal. Or Samsung sucks. Every brand in the world has some problems with all models at some point.

Apparently no one will change your mind though, so good luck.

Was it you who stuck 3 weeks in a row working on a phone's hardware and firmware? Seeking for help everywhere and people would just say "Download EPO and install it".
Wherever I went to find an answer, there was always someone saying not buy Chinese phones. Not only only Media Teks, but other kinds too.
So now I have got to go back and reflect about it?
I know other brands have problems too, but just because something is 2 years old, doesn't mean Chinese have change the way they make things. The last chinese phone I saw had an IPS screen and terrible touch screen, and it was an octa core phone with 2 Gb memory. There are hundreds of Chinese phones reviews in YouTube, new ones, that are going to tell you that when the camera doesn't suck, other thing will. We're talking about one the most capitalist countries in the world (Even if it has a communist government) that is famous for selling bad things.

I've not only have bad experience with phones, I had bad experience with other stuff too, such as necklaces, you have to be very careful when choosing a chinese seller, otherwise you'll buy things made by materials of very poor quality.

Even today Media Tek still make cheap things.

I can't predict the future, perhaps I try another chinese phone later, when I have money to burn, because $80 bucks for you means at least $150 for me, we're not living under the same economy and bureaucracy.
Even if I buy a $15 bucks phone, I'll have to pay customs because they're just going to go to google and search for the phone's price, they'll see "$80" and will charge me.

For a while, other brands may suck but at least I'll know what I'm buying and that I'll have a local warranty. And it doesn't mean it has to be a Samsung, it could be an ASUS or any other brand too.

You simply don't know what you're talking about. Basing your thoughts on very limited experience. MediaTek or Qualcomm has nothing to do with it. They actually use the exact same CPU and GPU cores.

Some of the top manufacturers in the world use MediaTek, including Sony, HTC, TCL, Lenovo and Xiaomi. And, yes... things have changed drastically since 2 years ago with the typical China phones.

Good luck with your Samsung though, you've got a nice warranty there, but that's about all you're getting for the extra hundreds of $$$.

This is going in circles. Thread closed, and OP good luck with whatever phone you choose. Do what makes you happy, life is short.
