[New flash method] MT6752 how to root & flash recovery MT67xx
#1
This tutorial will show you how to root MT6752 MT6753 MT6735 MT6732 and how to flash a custom CWM TWRP custom recovery without using PC version of SP Flash Tools.

****You will need the CWM or TWRP for your phone to complete this process

Beginning with the new MT67xx line of SoCs, we now have a new option for the all important step towards root: flashing a custom recovery. Something that's been available for awhile on Intel and Qualcomm SoC is now available to us China phone / MediaTek lovers: fastboot / bootloader flash commands.

The beauty of this is that you don't need to use SP Flash Tool, which reduces the chances of you causing a brick, and equally important: there's no need for an MT6752 MT6753 MT6735 MT6732 scatter.

This should work with most of the recent MTK releases with the newer SoC, but there are no guarantees.

I will use a CPA video for instructional for the newbie.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, let's begin.

Preparation
  1. [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] if you don't have them installed already
  2. Download the CWM or TWRP recovery for your phone
  3. IMPORANT: if your CWM/TWRP recovery is not named "recovery.img", then rename it to "recovery.img"
  4. If you will be rooting too, [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] and copy it to your phone storage or SD
  5. Turn on developer mode and USB debugging

    Action
  6. With your phone on, connect your phone to your PC with a USB cable
  7. IMPORTANT: Pay attention to your phone's display for any dialog permission boxes that come up, and allow them
  8. Open the folder with the recovery.img in it
  9. In a blank space in the folder, hold SHIFT and RIGHT-CLICK your mouse button
  10. An option box will open, select "Open command window here"
  11. In the black box that opens, type "adb reboot bootloader". Allow any dialog boxes that come up on your phone. Your phone should reboot into a mode waiting for your command
  12. Type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
  13. Type "adb reboot recovery"

    Rooting
  14. When booted into your CWM TWRP recovery, select "install zip from SD"
  15. Navigate to the SuperSU.zip you copied to your phone earlier
  16. Reboot

Please hit like if this helped you Fu Man If you decide to use or share this tutorial somewhere else, okay, but please leave a direct link to this original tutorial.

I have a Cubot X12. I've managed to Soft-Brick it. It responds to Fastboot and little else. I'd previously rooted an Samsung Galaxy S3 using heimdall, and managed to convince myself that little could go wrong. But the files that were said to work with the X12, didn't. Now if I were to get the three img files, then fastboot, as in another video of this site, this would be my preferred way of fixing it.

I have a Blackview 5000 phone.  I have tried to follow your suggestions but got a problem. The ""Open command window here" options does not pop up with right click if I am in the maps of the phone. The command prompt options is available on every other maps on other drives. The PC ses the phone in the explorer window like BV5000 ant not like physical drive. Does my problem suggest some Usb driver problem? Or what is missing?  Blush  Thanks

Don't open it in Blackview. Open it in PC folder.

I have mtk6753 and where can we get the custom recovery for our phones. That's what I have been searching for many months now. I used flashify, rom manager, twrp manager, official twrp all of them said no custom recovery for my MTK phone. Where are going to get it and flash without pc cos most of us have no pc.
