[Open Thread] Aliexpress Review
#51
Hi all,
my experience with aliexpress:
first of all, the ratings are helpful, but should not be your only guide. Why?
check out this item/seller:

I bought this phone and it's a FAKE. It's not Lenovo, and it has MTK6572 CPU. But I'm more tech advanced than most of the users, so I discovered it out. The others are happy, but deceived buyers. The dispute is on-going.
As for aliexpress in general, I'm reasonably happy with it, made 50+ purchases of all kinds of items (including 2 tablets, items as described, great quality), and so far only 2 disputes (to be fair not very critical ones), which were solved in my favor.
Will i buy again from ali? probably yes, the only high cost glitch was with the phone, but I'm confident the dispute will be in my favor.

This seller has just 20 ratings, and the price should be obvious for understanding it's fake

I use Aliexpress quite a lot and buy mainly low value items. I find it to be quite good and most times things that are on sale on eBay can be found on Aliexpress for less money, usually. It pays to check, and Amazon too. They ramp up the price on eBay, sometimes it's the self same Chinese sellers on all sites.

It also pays to have a camera handy as disputes require photographic or video evidence. Also the English language is something a lot of sellers struggle with, though some abuse that when communicating with you. Aliexpress themselves are very fair when dealing with disputes and I personally have never lost out.

Shipping can be very slow, also quite fast, considering the low shipping fees, which are sometimes free. Amazing that they can ship around the world at such low cost to them. Patience and politeness helps in communication, and try not to lose your temper.

I would say there are some great bargains to be had but do shop around, I am confident in recommending Aliexpress to anyone.

Alla each which (Allá cada cual - spanish).

I recommend looking for other ways. To bullshit can be a way, but there are other valuable items more serious alternatives.

They offer free Singapore Post, that's great and I received my phone in about 3 weeks.
I successfully received my phone (iOcean X7S), payment was no problem, friendly support, maybe a little lacking in English.
The phone's charging broke and I sent it in for about 155 SEK (or about $20).
The phone is now in for repairs in China.
Everything has been smooth so far.
Can only recommend the seller.

Personally I'm satisfied too about AliExpress; I have ordered a case on 29th january and it was delivered to me today. It's good receive mail like:
1)Your order number XXX has been paid successfully.
2)Your order number XXX has been shipped.
3)Your order number XXX is in transit (and "View Tracking Details").

Yes, it's a shame they haven't worked with PayPal. They like to keep things 'in-house'. Not give the power to an outside source in regards to whether payment is received or not.

At the same time, ebay and amazon do not work with zhifubao. they always think more about market or other.

Have ordered from them and everything arrives.

The whole escrow thing is bullshit though. The seller will request videos and stupid things like a "picture of their package" :/. What? A video of the install process... What?

Aliexpress also won't publish my feedback for the sale.

2nd time it's happened. I try to avoid these fuckers at all costs, but sometimes no other choice.

Hello there!

I notice that the last reply was dated 2015.Dec the 10th on problems facing buyers with various issues and sellers were not genuine enough refusing to refund and what not ........ .! Always two side of the coins!

26th Dec 2017 @ 2.20pm
Here is mine version ..... I bought through Ali Express Vernee Mix 2 6GB Ram and 64GB Rom from Vernee.cc official store on the 23rd Nov 2017. Before placing the order I sent them an email to confirm how fast they can send me? The reply was less than 2 weeks personal assurance from Jacky Zou the Resource Manager who is charge. After checking with other resellers I decided to buy from him based on his trust where I can get it in less than 2 weeks time! Is really awesome!!!
1 week later, he sent me an email telling delivery takes 25-49 days to reach me!!!!!! I already lost my hope on this guy. Well, the thing came in less than 21 days (3 weeks) but I realized that the Mix 2 did not meet up to the specification, that is, NON-compliance to Sony IMX-258 back sensor camera calmed by Vernee.cc!!!! See I have given them the benefit of doubts but what happened then .....!!
So I took up the case after getting more evidence to support my claim! Gizbeat also wrote an article of that Sony IMX-258 is FALSE claim rather AR 1335 by ON Semiconductors [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
Anyway, Ali express stepped in to help out on this so called "OPEN DISPUTE" .... I give them 2 ultimate terms that is, either to pay me a Refund of US$100 or Full refund for Mix2 phone US$209.59. Initially, they started with US$5 and again stressed other buyers agree to accept it!!! The come back again to offer me again US$ 5!!! Gearbest is offering buyers for US$50 on before buyers going into Open Dispute option. Well, still waiting for Ali Express to do something ..... !!

The morale of this story I would like to share is ......... !
1. Never trust Vernee.cc for their words! I was having the impression that I buy from them later root the phone can install custom Rom since is a good specification in the long run can last longer;

2. Trusting seller is number 1 thing .... do not indulge yourself that phone specification is actual when coming to all OEM phones cloning from China people! Just to save a couple of bucks in the end ... I play with back fire hahaha! lol! In spite of my knowledge yet I get played out by this seller

3. The utmost important thing is the "After Sale Service" never a technician or representative to assist you in all the problem you faced during your queries or technicalities .... what not. Thanks to all outsiders and Gizbeat here to help out. Thumb Up!!!

There are good sellers and trust worthy too ..... generally, depend how well and lucky through our course of dealing. Well, Happy New Year 2018 everyone!! Stay healthy and Be happy always!!
