lol ye, it could make sense, but i hope it's not a "feature" of this phone. Then i would end up in a ditch when using the compass while charging in the car.
Hope somebody else can test it and report back.

My iNew V3 is working fine for 1 Week, now I am facing a Battery Problem. its Showing 90% then coming to lower than 5% in an span of 1 or 2 hrs and again if I keep USB its again showing 40 -80% and from there its discharging at charging state too. :-(. hope I have to delete Battery stats file

Mine only charges up to 89%, but at 89% the battery is already at 4.2V, so it's fully charged already, but somehow the phone thinks it should charge more and continues with the red light on and at 89% forever even tho the voltage doesn't increase... maybe a kernel thing or something .. dunno... but i'm afraid it's not doing any good to the battery, always pushing current on it even after fully charged.
If i delete batterystats and turn it off, and then while off connect to charger, it does go to 100% in seconds, but after i boot the phone it will go very fast to 89% again... So something is not comunicating well there... but i have no idea what it can be, i have to google around to see if there's some manual way to edit how the os relates the voltage/current to the percentage.
Ur problem sounds a bit more serious tho...
And your compass, does it work ok even when connected to usb charger?

This may be a bit late but it might help others with the compass issue. The compass on this phone works fine as far as I know. When my V3 arrived I checked the compass and it was not working I immediately got a message which popped up saying that there is interference and that I should wave the phone doing loops in mid air,it says to do it like the number 8 horizontally, that calibrates the compass and now it works fine. Sometimes when you go to different places there is interference with the compass but everytime I wave it around doing 8's in mid air it re-calibrates and works fine.

Yeah, people around me also give me a funny look when I do that
But if that's the price for a working compass, who cares...

I probly inhaled something bad as i have ordered another iNew V3 after selling my 1st one... should have it next week, lets see if it has the same exact probs, i suspect it will and that i will sell it again lol
