Make sure you've created the scatter with MTK Droid Tools. I assume you have.
Have you taken a look at [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] ?

Of course. the only thing I got left to try is a non-windows 7 machine, which I don't have access to. Going to have to find an old laptop or something.
Could it be that MTK droid tools and SP flash are just not compatible with my phone?

No. This is very unlikely. Make sure you're using PDANet Drivers. Follow the Ranpha tutorial.
The reason I think you've had a problem with rooting is because possibly the Timmy is true Android 4.3. An option I didn't consider from the start. I've sent you a PM.

Well I've made some progress. Using a ALT flash tool Gizbeat suggested, I got a custom CWM on the phone.
While it appears I can mount system and flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip - SuperSU doesn't appear on the phone.
So the mission to get true root continues it seems lol

Congratulations on CWM.
Have you tried to download SuperUser or SupeSU from Play?
How about a review of the Timmy and a pic or two from its phone?

I will soon promise. Only issue is mounting /system, which is protected. I'm going to try flashing patch boot.img with:
Quote:#
# ADDITIONAL_DEFAULT_PROPERTIES
#
ro.secure=0
ro.allow.mock.location=0
ro.debuggable=0
persist.service.adb.enable=0
set, which SP flash tools as created, will see if I can overcome this issue for I see happy days. As it stands CWM can mount system but still claims system is read only when I can to install SuperSU or use adb push. I'll update soon.

Ok let me say again, this is a bit over my head, does anyone know how to mod boot.img to make the above changes?
I can provide a copy of my boot.img
As I stands I can do adb remount
When I attempt to push superuser.apk to /system/app it states:
Read-only file system
Which is odd because I can do adb root and adb remount which results in:
C:\Users\PC\Desktop\root_cleaner>adb root
adbd is already running as root
C:\Users\PC\Desktop\root_cleaner>adb remount
remount succeeded
Any ideas?
Not sure if this is because I have "pure" Android 4.3?

Changing the boot.img isn't going to help.
You might want to answer my initial questions. Have you tried installing SuperSU and SuperUser from play?
Did you try the root method I sent you in PM?
Have you tried flashing SuperUser instead of SuperSU from within CWM.
4.3 is definately different. I recommend trying all of the above, but the method I sent in PM is most likely to work.

1. Tried both, they install but binaries will not update. Likely because /system is ro and cannot be mounted as rw. They don't install as system apps.
2. Tried, both the Wi-Fi and 3G method, nothing appears to happening, just pauses on ...
3. Tried flashing both superuser and SuperSU in CWM. While it does the mounting etc... unmounting, the apps don't appear in system/apps
Based my research it doesn't appear to be possible in stock android 4.3, at this time. I may keep looking in the meantime, but its a bit of shame to say the least.

4.3 is fully rootable. There's no doubt about that. It just may be that Timmy's version doesn't yet have a root method created for it. Give it some time, the China quick roots should begin to include 4.3 in them soon.
You're one step in a good direction with CWM.
If you crack the problem, please let us know how you ended up doing it.
