[Question] Which 5.5" 13Mp chinaphone choose? See list

5" -> iNew V3 & Smartnote X1
5"+ -> Umi X3 & Oppo ZP998.

Umi X3 was just given an official launch date of March 21st 2014 so that will be an option very soon.

I just ordered the 5.5" Lenovo k910 vibe z. It's a bit above your price range ($400) but is the highest spec active dual sim phone on the market today. Excellent performance, Snapdragon 800, very good 13mp camera, 1080hd screen and top 5 (34,000+) Antutu numbers according to the reviews plus a competent (3000mah) battery. Best of all it's quad band gsm AND FIVE band wcdma so it's 3g on all networks worldwide Including the US (very few phones can match that for $400). One drawback is no sd card slot and only 16gb of storage of which 12gb is usable. But with 15gb on my Google drive that's directly available and fully compatible with Android (of course) I don't see that as an issue. Indeed my Nexus 7 is only 16gb and I still have 6gb free with both FIFA 14 and Dead Trigger 2 plus photos and videos (no music).

Thanks for the replies.
Actually, I want to get a low budget one to test first and then maybe throw more money at it.
The most important thing for me is the camera.
I checked out a 5.5" phone and it suits me, so will go for a 5.5".
I am seriously thinking for the Umi X3 & Oppo ZP998, although I like the smartnote design more.

Well this is interesting. I have just ordered a Lenovo K910 Vibe Z and a Zopo ZP998. I will be reviewing them both. Big Grin
I think if you are uncertain about the phones then starting with a slightly lower cost option is a good idea. That being said the Umi X3 and Zopo ZP998 have more brand recognition than many others so they are great choices.

As for the Lenovo Vibe Z, you can't go wrong with that phone. I have no doubt that it is as solid as any other phone on the market in build and performance at half the price. Yes it is higher cost than many other Chinese phones but that is because Lenovo are one of the larger companies and because it is using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 rather than Mediatek's options. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Mediatek fan and their stuff works great but the Snapdragon 800 is a pricier solution.
Only downside I see with that phone is as Twotems mentioned, 16gb storage with no expansion slot.

When it comes to name recognition and pricing the Lenovo was my only choice. I've had my Jiayu g5 advanced for all of three weeks and it's been one problem after another. Speaker is kaput, gps is baffling and it reboots sometimes on incoming calls. Jiayu is supposed to be a quality Chinese brand and the phone is well built, extremely smooth and quick with an awesome battery (3000mah option) but I have to question their quality control. I'd rather pay that slight extra premium from Lenovo and know it won't crap out after three weeks. Besides the Vibe Z matches or surpasses most of the top end phones that are $200-300 more.

Interesting discussion.
Lookylooky, where can I find those reviews?
It's waiting till 21th of March now to see what the UMI will have to offer, as it will be my first Chinaphone, I hope it will be as good as my Galaxy Nexus.

Same here, very much considering buying Umi x3 for my first china phone. The specs look nice.
Im worried is Umi a good brand that makes quality build devices or should i wait for something better? Are there any good 2.0 ghz octacores coming soon for 250$ price?

This is kind of my question too, waiting for the X3 is a week, but there are always others coming out. Maybe with a more attractive design or a better price.

Is the UMI X3 also your favorite from this list ?

Im a newbie but as far as i can see the Umi x3 is the cheapest. Im after octacore thats 250$ or less. There are better phones but they cost alot more, not worth for first time i think. Umi should have a good screen from lg and a stronger battery 3100mah battery.

I think i will order it when it comes, but im worried about build quality.

If you aren't pressed for a phone right away it might be a good idea to wait for a few weeks and see what the opinions are on the UMI X3. I have a good feeling about that phone.

My phones are on their way so once I get them and have had a chance to test them out I'll do up the reviews. You'll be able to find them in these forums or on Gizbeat.com
