[Question] Which Note 3 Clone do I have? (MTK6592)

Sorry if this have been discussed many times, but I really can't find any roms that work on my phone, other than the Stock I got, and I don't know why.

I bought it from ibaby888 on Dhgate, he say it's a Goophone N3, but no custom firmware from GP N3 works.

When I compare the firmware the build.prop looks similar.
The MT6592_Android_scatter.txt looks almost the same, except:

But can that really matter?


Any help so I can try diffrent firmwares would help.

The phone works great like it is, but I can't help myself, I want to test stuff

Your phone is definitely not a Goophone, it actually appears to be the n9006. Not sure if there are ROMs for the mtk6592 refresh yet but a quick google did turn up an older ROM and discussions about rooting etc.

EDIT: oh and yes, the difference does matter, you have a completely different phone from another manufacturer. Glad to see that you didn't brick it with the Goophone ROM.

I have tried to Googled it but can't find any mtk6592 n9006, sounds strange if ibaby888 would sell the only ones? Or can it be just because it's new so it's not common yet?

Rooting and backup and everything works great with MTK Droid Tools and I have switched out the ugly yellow Note 3 lockscreen wallpaper with editing the framework-res.apk and adding another wallpaper in there.

But it's annoying to not be able to try anything...

I'm new to android so I don't know much about porting firmware, but is it usually hard to port firmware from other similar phones?

Well the design under the back cover is identical to the N9006. you can also find it under SM-900 but I did see one very similar but different phone here: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

Porting firmware is quite difficult, in particular you will most likely not have compatible drivers for all of the hardware if you port from a different device.

Thanks for all your work, that phone also look similar, but still not the same, it doesnt have the 3 pins under the cover..

Im getting 27k score in Antutu, would I get that if its only 1GB ram? All tests say its 2GB, but i only have 100-300MB free ram usually.

You're welcome. Can you post a pic of the back/inside of your phone?

That should mean you have 2GB of RAM. Even though this phone is listed as having 1GB it shows 2GB in Antutu

Sorry to hear that. Unforunately aliexpress, dhgate, etc. are full of dishonest sellers. At least we found it though . Well maybe you can find something here [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]&sa=search&scat=0 now or in the near future. There are plenty of ROMs for Note 3 clones, just have to make sure it's for the right one.

Seems like everything except MLais MX69 are for older CPUs, but will try to download that one and see what happends

It's a bit annoying to not get what I paid for, but the phone is still working good, I'm opening a dispute on DHGate tho and hopefully ibaby888 will be forced to change the description on the phone so as few people as possible get fooled into buying it.

Well dang, it looks like the Mlais is from a different manufacturer. If you are going to try an ROMs I would definitely recommend checkkng out vampirefo's thread on dual booting [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
