[Question] iNew features with v1.0.8

Hello dear chinaphonearena users!

This is my first post! So this is also my introduction to chinaphonearena

You people here are really great and I admire your work and effort thrown into china phones especially iNew V3! Respect!

I can't seem to find any topics related to features working of iNew V3 with new firmware nr. 1.0.8,

My questions are:

1. Did battery life improve at any level compared to stock firmware?
2. Does functions like NFC, OTG and AIRgestures work with v1.0.8?
3. I've heard there are problems with GPS, does everyone have these problems or are they rare?
4. Is there still problem with storage? And what about partitions? I'm scared to flash it since it got only one partition due to firmware update...
5. If there is anything else I should know about V3 downsides and warnings please comment and if you need my help in any way I am willing to spend time helping you, of course if I am able to, since I consider V3 an amazing phone!

from what i read so far, battery is still inconclusive,
NFC & OTG seem to work, Airgesture does not.
GPS may or may not be a problem, i am not sure if the people reporting this have not had GPS problems even before they flashed 1.0.8
what problem with storage do you mean?
since 1.0.4 they do not partition in App-storage and phone storage anymore, its one big blob (has advantages and downsides)
before flashing its always a good idea to backup your phone (ROM, NVRAM and Data)
if you come from a pre-1.0.4 firmware, it will most probably delete your data since it will repartition the space.

Well some people said that there are problems with when you have one partition and you go custom roms and flashing that there might be problems when going back with flashing etc. But I'm kinda noob in these stuffs so I don't know for sure...

could be, you might want to check the threads about 1.0.7 and 1.0.8 firmware, lots of information there.
there is also somwhere a "changelog" posted here which suggests they did something to improve battery life.

if you ask me - if you do not have any problems with your phone other than the battery life, i would just leave it alone.
the firmware updates seem to be very much "work in progress" i would wait at least until it stabilizes a bit.

100% agree. Just leave your phones alone if it's working okay. The iNew ROM very stable and fine since original 1.0.3

Hello all,

Well, actually my phone is yet to come! I'm waiting for more than month for it to come! order from banggood and they had some issues on stock so I don't know which version software will be preinstalled. I hope that I will get at least 1.0.3 - 1.0.4 so that i don't have to flash it or anything.

Hello,recived my phone 4 days ago. So far i noticed some
battery issues ,charges from 30 to 100 then discharges fast to 62 (always) stays at 62 for more than one hour (wifi on) then drops to around 50 suddenly. Total battery time is good . Screen lock is activated randomly in poor lighting , really annoying. Other than that works ok .

I have a v3 1.0.8. GPS does not work. Installed mobile uncle . it said phone needs rooting?
Is this possible and how can I do it.
