[REVIEW] Bluboo Xtouch
#1
MODS
Sorry if in the wrong place.

Basics (sure you can Google for full specs)
Media Tek MT6753
3G Ram, 32G ROM, User ROM available around 26G
5 inch screen 441 ppi

I have had this phone for around 5 months, so I think this should be a fair review given the period of time I have used it for.

Camera
I have no real comparison, my last phone was a Samsung galaxy s2. I personally found the Bluboo camera app appalling and almost unusable, I have installed Snap camera and camera ZOOM fx. I have found the quality to be generally fine for viewing on my PC and sharing on facebook. Under low light conditions they sometimes come out not so good.
The "selfie" camera works fine as long as you are well lit, I have found it pretty poor in low light conditions, e.g. at the bar.

Screen
The screen looks great whether that’s playing games, reading, or watching videos, and I used it quite a lot for reading books.
I found the screen very responsive and don’t recall getting any false "hits"

Sound
At the bottom of the phone there are two "grills" which would I thought meant two speaker, unfortunately one is a dummy and no sound comes out at all, personally I didn’t like the placement of the speaker as when using it in landscape mode for games I mostly covered the speaker, or had to hold the phone awkwardly.
I found the sound quality during calls was clear but a bit on the quiet side. The speakers play games at a great volume, but found the ringtone volume lower.
There is a weird set-up in the software where I couldn’t actually control the volume of media, so the volume was pretty quiet when watching You Tube for instance.
Again with the software it was nearly impossible to have the phone on silent apart from the alarm, i.e. I only wanted the alarm to sound but no other alerts for call, messages, email alerts etc..

Battery
I reckon on around 4 to 5 hours screen time, with the longer time just using it to read books, with the shorter time, a mixture of being online, you tube, facebook, browsing the web, taking a few pictures.
This is nowhere near the claimed 10 hours (iirc) by bluboo.

Fingerprint scanner
Initially I found it not very good. However I then recorded the same finger 5 times to give it a better chance, as time went on and I "learned" how to place my finger(thumb actually) I can get it to work first time nearly every time, and it does react pretty quick, maybe half a second.

Performance
I found that I would handle any game that I threw at it, occasionally it would have a little stutter. for the more intensive games it would heat up quite a lot, but not so much that I'd have to put it down. But I'm not a big phone gamer, so the phone wasn’t really tested by 3d high intensity gaming.

The bad
The earphone socket never worked from the day I bought it, but as I rarely uses earphones so when I did the phone was out of warranty.
This is where I can only give praise to a site sponsor GEARBEST, when I contact them, even though I had gone beyond the 45 day returns, they did offer either credit to my gearbest account, or returning the phone at my own expense, as I don’t really use headphones I took the credit, rather then paying for it to be returned. This ended up being a huge mistake.

The really bad
I bought the phone around the beginning of February, a few days ago the charging port (microUSB) started playing up, as of yesterday the charging port no longer works so I am left with a dead phone.

Conclusion

As of me writing this there are no custom ROMs for the phone, but on xda there is a cm13 and muiu rom being developed, but not really going anywhere fast. It seriously needs better software than the buggy software installed.

Excluding the hardware faults I don’t think I would recommend this phone to anyone, what on paper looks like it should be great, it actually doesn’t live up to expectations.

At the minute I have jot received my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pro (3:32 650 snapdragon) and after only one day with it I'm blown away, so would recommend someone save a little bit more and go for the redmi.

I hope that all makes sense and doesn’t look like a preschooler wrote it.
Any questions about the phone then please ask and i will do my best to answer them.

No worries, sorry it isn’t a very "professional" looking review, but its the first I've done.

I’m not really much of a rep whore but i thought 100+ views might have got a few.

Just trying to put something back into the community as i haven’t seen a users review/opinion of this phone.

Part of it is that 95% of views are from guests.

I also think some people may think the obvious red button is a "Report" button, not a reputation button. I've been meaning to fix it, but just on the bottom of the to-do list at the moment.

The other part is people are just too busy to bother. They skim it and go to the next digital chunk of candy.

You can be sure it's appreciated Bilko. Thanks very much.
