[ROM] OUKITEL U7 PLUS - STOCK ROMS & TWRP
#11
Hello Cleo, thank you for your hard work. I would like to ask you something.
To flash a stock rom do I have to unlock the bootloader for the rom to work?

I am asking because I was on the latest android 6 firmware and the device asked me to upgrade to Nougat. The upgrade failed and I have tried to upload with sp flash tool the nougat firmware formating the flash but nothing. I tried to downgrade, also nothing. I can go to fastboot mode and into recovery, I can flash the twrp images that you have made but for fcks sake I cannot boot the device. So I have concluded that something in the bootloader don't let me to boot the device because the sp flash tool finishes without error and from the recovery I can mount the system partition.

Because I wouldn't expect the nougat update to fail I haven't enabled the oem unlock option and the usb debugging options from the system ui when it was working fine.

Yesterday I have tried to unlock the bootloader with fastboot, I could sent the command (fastboot oem unlock) to the device, the device asked me to press vol + to unlock the bootloader but immediately fails. I have read that I need a code from the company to unlock the bootloader. Have you tried to unlock the bootloader with fastboot? Did it need a code?

@Hazuki :

Please tell me the Build number of your phone.
Settings-->About phone-->Build number.

a) What version of SP Flash Tool do you use to flash the rom ?
b) What version of Windows OS do you have installed ?
c) Do you have a laptop pc or a desktop pc ?

You NO need any code from the company to unlock the bootloader.

STEPS TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER :

1) Install (click always YES) "adb-setup-1.4.2.exe" from the next links :

http://www.mediafire.com/file/2df821420x..._1.4.2.rar

2) Connect your phone to your pc with USB cable.
3) Open CMD (command prompt).
4) Type the next command :

adb reboot bootloader (and press enter)

5) Type the next command :

fastboot getvar all (and press enter)

6) You should see "bootloader unlocked : no"

7) Now type the next command :

fastboot oem unlock (and press enter)

8) Press volume up (into your phone) to confirm to unlock the bootloader.
9) You will see in the CMD prompt the next messages :

"Start unlock flow", and when it will be finished, you will see "OKAY".

10) Now type the next command :

fastboot getvar all (and press enter)

11) Now you should see "bootloader unlocked : yes"

Thanks for your reply, I cannot get the build number because the phone doesn't even boot, so I cannot browse the system ui and see from settings the build number.

If the build number is the firmware version, then I think I was on the latest ota update before nougat.

a) The versio of sp flash tool is 5.1640 and I tried also with 5.1628. I also tried with the flash tool that oukitel suggested with the release of the nougat firmware.

b) First I tried with Windows 10, then with windows xp sp3, finally with windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

c) My first flash I tried them on a laptop, now I am using my desktop that has Windows 7 64bit.

Related to fastboot I have done the following before your post

1) I pressed the power button and the volume +, got in the bootloader option and I choose fastboot.

2) Connected the device to my pc, opened a cmd, gave the command fastboot devices and I saw my device listed.

3) Executed the command fastboot getvar all and I saw bootloader unlocked: no

4) I executed the command fastboot oem unlock, on the screen of the device shows the warning that you mention and I press the volume + to unlock the bootloader. Immediately the command fails and in my cmd windows I think it says remote: oem unlock is not allowed.

Remember I didn't have enabled the developer options, so the usb debugging is off and also oem unlock option is off.

Does booting to fastboot with the adb command enables me to unlock the bootloader? Also do you know if the official roms that are on needrom are signed or not? Finally do you have a signed rom from oukitel that can upload with sp flash tool to see if this makes any change?

Thanks again for your time. Oukitel doesn't even respond to my mails. +_=

@Hazuki

I have had NO problem to unlock the bootloader.
However, for now please forget about bootloader.

Please keep your Win 7 Ultimate !
It seems to be the only Windows OS version where Nougat firmware works.
The next screenshots are the proof of it :

STEPS :

1) Download the latest version (5.1648.00) of SP Flash Tool :

http://www.mediafire.com/file/qwgshpgipx...648.00.rar

2) Download the Nougat stock firmware :

http://mega.nz/#!00BG2QpB!PMTI7cHGU6gUoD...c3z-7yIFds

3) Unrar the stock firmware.
4) Open SP Flash Tool.
5) Load the scatter file inside stock firmware folder.

VITAL STEP : 6) Select FIRMWARE UPGRADE !

7) Click Download.
8) Connect your turned off phone to the pc with usb cable.
9) When flash process finished (100%) disconnect from the pc.
10) Press power button.

NOUGAT TWRP 3.0.3 :

a) Download the Nougat twrp :

http://www.needrom.com/download/u7-plus-nougat-twrp/

b) Download the rar with SuperSU zip and BusyBox zip :

http://www.mediafire.com/file/g4hubpximc..._SU-BU.rar

c) Copy the two zip into your microSD.
d) Tap on "Settings" -->"About phone" --> "Build number".
e) Tap 7 times on "Build number".
f) Tap on "Developer option" and enable "OEM unlocking" and "USB debugging".
g) Turn off the phone.
h) Open SP Flash Tool.
i) Load the scatter file inside the twrp rar.
j) Click on Download (Download Only mode).
k) Connect your phone to your pc with USB to start the flash process.
l) When it finished, press "volume up" and "power" buttons simultaneously.
m) Select the first white line with volume up.
n) Press volume down to confirm.
o) Tap on "Install".
p) Tap on "Select Storage" and tap on "Micro SDCard".
q) Tap on "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.79-20161211114519.zip"
r) Swipe to confirm Flash.
s) When installation is finished, swipe to reboot.
t) Tap on the icon of SuperSU to activate it.
u) Reboot into twrp recovery once again
v) Repeat the same steps to install Busybox zip.
w) Enjoy.

Format All + Download ? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!

Now you have lost your two IMEI
Now you can not use your SIM cards

NEVER DO "FORMAT ALL + DOWNLOAD" !

Doh

Well I know that I have lost everything but that was what the sp flash tool suggested. The IMEI numbers are in the back of the phone under the battery. Is it possible to save the phone now or not? I have seen guides you can write back the IMEI number, is this why the phone doesn't boot because it cant find the IMEI numbers? Even with the IMEI numbers deleted it should have booted.

Do not blame SP Flash Tool if you have erased your NVRAM.
Do not worry. It is a common mistake. I did too.
The boot has nothing to do with IMEI.

Please do not experiment with your phone anymore.
You have done enough damage to your phone.
Please follow my steps to flash the stock firmware.
