Working Custom Recovery for custom Roms !

A serious issue about custom roms for Apollo X was the custom recovery.
It was not possible to boot the TWRP 3.0.3 by "fastboot boot c:\adb\recovery.img".
Therefore, it was not possible to make any backup or install any zip

Finally I have found a solution to achieve this

All you need is the Carliv Touch Recovery 5.7.3

I have performed Backup, Restore, Gapps, SuperSu and BusyBox by Carliv.
Everything worked fine.


BEFORE PROCEEDING :

Make sure you have NOT installed the ota update 2017-4-26 !


ROM INSTALLATION STEPS :

1) Reboot (fastboot boot recovery.img) into twrp.
2) Make a full backup of stock rom (Boot, System and Data) into microSD.
3) Make a backup of NVRAM separately into microSD.
4) Tap on Wipe (main screen of twrp).
5) Tap on Advanced Wipe.
6) Select Dalvik/System/Cache/Data/Internal Storage BUT NOT Micro SDCard.
7) Swipe to Wipe.
8) Return to the main screen of twrp.
9) Tap on Install.
10) Tap on Select Storage and tap on Micro SDCard.
11) Tap on Apo_X-LineageOS_14.zip.
12) Swipe to confirm Flash.

VITAL STEPS :

13) When installation finished, return to main menu.
14) Tap on Install.
15) Tap on Select Storage and tap on Micro SDCard.
16) Tap on SuperSU-v2.79-SR3.zip.
17) When installation finished, return to main menu.
18) Tap on Install.
19) Tap on Select Storage and tap on Micro SDCard.
20) Tap on Busybox.Installer.v1.26.2-ALL-signed.zip.
21) When installation finished, NOW REBOOT.
22) About phone–>Build number–>tap 7 times
23) Android debugging–>enable
24) Tap on icon of SuperSU to activate it.
25) Flash Carliv custom recovery (SP Flash Tool).
26) Install Gapps by Carliv.

For your knowledge :
I noticed that the incorporated root do not guarantee root right to some apps.
Then, please disable incorporated root and use SuperSU.

16) Tap on icon of SuperSU to activate it.
17) cellular data is off - TURN ON.
18) Setting–>SIM cards–>SIM 1 settings.
19) Disable Data roaming.
20) Developer options–>enable Android debugging.
21) Turn on Wi-Fi.
22) Reboot the phone (FUNDAMENTAL).
23) Grant root request to SETTINGS (1000).
24) Flash Carliv custom recovery (SP Flash Tool).
25) Install Gapps by Carliv custom recovery.

Check the battery consumption and tell me please.
I noticed an over-consumption of battery.
At this moment I am working on it.
As soon as possible I will post new roms with fixed battery.

Yes, after 2 days of normal usage, I noticed battery is draining faster in Lineage OS.
Does Resurrection Remix also have this problem? (I only tried it for a few hours)

I will be waiting for the Lineage OS battery fix.

I had noticed about this terrible flaws of battery in both custom roms.
I have almost finished to make an improved version of RR.
Also the battery consumption is fixed.
Tonight or tomorrow (Italy time zone) I will post it here on Chinaphonearena.

PLEASE FOLLOW CAREFULLY THE STEPS IN THE NEXT VIDEO-TUTORIAL :



EXPLANATION OF THE STEPS ON THE VIDEO-TUTORIAL :

- Twrp installation screenshot.
- Home screen screenshot.
- Phone status screenshot.
- Boot Shell apk icon (tap on it).
- Tap on SCRIPT FILES.
- Tap on the three lines (left corner).
- Tap on New script.
- Type the script name (I called it deepsleep).
- Tap on SAVE.

And now the most important part of the tale :

- Please write the command correctly !
- Tap on SAVE AND EXIT.
- Now you can see the deepsleep.sh onto SCRIPT FILES.
- Tap on it and tap on Execute & show output.
- Superuser request, Grant full access.

To be sure that Boot Shell will execute the command at boot :

- untick and tick once again the check marks.

- VITAL STEP : turn off, then turn on the phone !
- Grant full access to Settings.
- You can see the next message : Boot Shell 1 scripts executed at boot.
- I have successfully tested the ability of the deep sleep.

I suggest you to restart the phone at least twice in one day.

Hello.

Till now ResurrectionRemix with fixed battery seems to be the best possible.
Try it ... you will not regret it.

Regarding the new LineageOS, I am working on it.

I've been using Resurrection Remix for 3 days now. The battery life is great!

Besides the occasional crash on some applications, everything is perfect.
