[ROM] v3_inew_v1.0.8_GPS-Fix_MNShop.cz (GPS Fix, Root, CWM)
#31
I think gps is really good with this rom. But i think its a little laggy. I use exactly the same apps and (nova) launcher with exactly the same settings as i had in 1.0.4 PLUS and i notice chops and lags during browser and Facebook scrolling and scrolling between screen is not as smooth as it was before.
Has anyone notice that?

/system/etc
----- gps.conf
----- epo_conf.xml
/system/etc/firmware
----- mtk6572_82_patch_e1_0_hdr.bin
----- mtk6572_82_patch_e1_1_hdr.bin
/system/xbin
----- libmnlp_mt6582

The gps.conf needs to be configured with your local ntp server (FasterFix will do the trick).

I've tried to copy this to my 1.0.8 rom and after a reboot my agps and epo started to work. Still my gps wont work(im starting to think that i have faulty hardware like the antenna or something) it shows the satellites but it wont pick any signal. Later i will make a GPS fix for 1.0.8 as for now i want to repair my phone gps

Try one of the previous roms!
I had serious gps problem with even this gps fix.
stock 1.0.8: no agps, no epo, 1-2 sat in sight but no lock
custom 1.0.8. gps fixed: agps ok, epo ok, a lot sats in sight but extremely poor signal what means several minutes to connect to max 3 sats and loosing the fix in every 30 sec because of low signal strenght.
1.0.5 with the system img of 1.0.7. : GPS works like a charm. from ca. 20 sats it connects to 6-7 in less than a minute and keeps the signal. There was no need to play with any gps tweeks or anything. It worked fine "out of the box". But in this version the home button bug is a pain in the ass but at least the gps works great.
I have inew V3.0 850/2100 probably from the first batch.

The stock 1.0.8 was super smooth for me. From this aspect it was the best. From another the gps was useless Crying

But GPS now is more precise? With my inew v3 GPS fix but it localize me with some errors (about 6-7 meters) this new Rom fix this problem?

Should I intall intermediate firmware , before this one. I'm currently with iNew V3 Ultimate v1.0.3 - 3.5GB internal. Should i lose the divide of internal memory and is there a way to keep installed programs and settings.
Thank you.

Maybe it fixed it for some, but not for me. Same issue, many sats but no signal. And of course no fix. Thanks for the effort, I will have to wait until iNew comes up with a rom with 100% good working GPS. My phone can do it, because with other roms I have signal and fix.

Hm, strange things happening here. I just installed this rom again, just to test if when I restore a NVRAM from 1.04 with perfect GPS signal, I can get the GPS in 1.08 working.
So I flashed it, and wanted to check the GPS, which I assumed would not work. But.
But it works.....
Fix in less than 5 seconds.
Very strange as I tried evrything with the 1.08s'and nothing worked.
Ok, now I have 1.08, and a working GPS. Will test later more.
And why is 1.08 better than other FW? What is improved?

I have a strange behavior after incoming call ends. Volume of V3 speakers automatic decrease to minimum level after call. Always. Someone noticed this too ?

Have you tried to navigate (maybe with iGo)? In GPSTest I have 4-5 fix satellites in 30sec, but when I use iGo, navigation sux. It takes several minutes to fix and loses signal, drops me off the road or to the road near my actual location. Also when I arrive to the turn navigation still shows 200-300m. Please try the navigation and share your results.

I will test later, but it also depends on the navigation software you use. With Google navigation or Waze I lose fix and position al lot. Always end up next to the road. But with Sygic (7 day free trail can be downloaded from Playstore) or with Be On Road (free when uses with the free maps) I have good fix, keeps good position and keeps me on the road, not in the pastures or woods next to the road. I will test 1.08gpsfix later while driving, see what I get. But for now: first never a fix or signal with 1.08, now 14 sats and a fix in seconds with exact the same 1.08gpsfix firmware.

That is interesting as also I have the problem of good fix but a bad navigation.
In google maps with satellite view is easy to see position changing with gps in same place and a poor accuracy.

I have the stock 1.0.8 and already tried everything without success.
A fix would be great .

I have installed, and I'm testing. The GPS and navigation with Sygic is very good.Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig GrinThumbs UpThumbs UpThumbs Up
Inside the house sees 8-10 satellites, and it hooks up 5, first with the stock rom could not find any, not even 2, outdoors. The rom overall is improved, even in battery consumption. Thank you for the great fix.Thumbs UpThumbs UpThumbs UpThumbs UpThumbs UpBig GrinBig Grin
