not too shabby for 8MP if i may say so, would be interesting to see a direct comparison to the t100s' 13MP.

one q though - the pictures seem to be in 4:3 ratio - is that by choice or is it fixed for 8MP?

Very happy with the results @linr76

The THL T11 pictures were taken 4:3 by choice. Guess in a bit of an old school mood today. 13mp was available as an option in full and in 4:3. The phone's back piece says 8mp on it, so assume 13mp option = interpolated.

I've never cared about MP. Photo quality is #1 and 8mp is more than enough. Except in extreme circumstances, nobody is going to be cropping like this, and it's rare to find people who actually print photos, but if one were to to print, this phone would produce decent 8x10's. I normally take pics at 1mp.

13 or 8? AnTuTu Benchmark: "Device Info" says the "Rear Camera" is 13.3 mega pixel, 4864x2736.

If we combine that with ISO, shutter speed, perhaps we might find the lens aperture? There are several PlayStore apps to help calculate this.

13 or 8 --- matters a lot. If the light receiver is CMOS, and LARGE in area, the given a tiny lens, it will not be able to see clearly in low light.

On some full frame camera sensors, the incoming light is so strong, that neutral density filters are needed to better use the camera. Chinese cameras on the phones have yet to atch up to Samsung & Nokia technology in this area.

Looking at the photos ... onboard photo software, without a tripod?

There are many 3rd party HDR (high dynamic range) apps. Photo should be taken to include a large section of shaded (into gradual blackness) background.

Also, try indoors, with outdoor glare, but mostly indoor varying levels of darkness in the one picture. Try to include colors that we know well (CocaCola, MacDonald's toys, bottle, etc). Use a phone which id not hand held, with its timer on, to reduce vibrations.

Sometimes night shots of outdoor advertisements (Panasonic, Toyota, etc) might be useful.

@gregzeng Yes, hand held (the way 99% of people will be taking pics with their phone) and unedited. With stock app. These are to give a general idea of what images will look like from the camera in daylight with normal photos.

Will eventually have some night shots so we can see how they come out. Can take some HDR shots as well.

Looking forward to a W200S gallery from you. We could use a shutterbug or two more here. Thumbs Up

In my nursing-home stage of life, the professional photographer that I was half a century ago (50 years!) has long gone. More OCR-work of business cards/ printed text/ photos; "selfie" micro-closeups of my skin-cancered face, etc. Have a web site, Youtube address, etc ... but still checking my video-publishing capabilities. Before I go to Xtian heaven or Chinese hell, I want the Nobel Prize for Human-Factors Engineering :-)

Moore's Law says that Chinese smartphones will replace handheld computers, cameras, phones and tablets. Perhaps?

No selfies required. I'm sure you can muster up the energy to snap a couple and upload them Thumbs Up
