I'm an Android developer by trade and most of you may be surprised to know how Google authorizes what phones an app can be installed on. There's actually two methods that work together
- The first is you request a list if features your app requires. So, for example, you can say that your photo taking app requires a camera.
- The second one that surprised me is you actually check off devices from a list of EVERY Android device ever released. Not a problem if its one of the major platforms, but for some of our more obscure Chinese phones, it's entirely possible the device name gets mangled before it gets to that list.
Well, stumbled across a great tool that lets you bypass these checks and install any app from the market. Check it out here and let me know what you think.
