[Tutorial] Doogee DG700 Titans2 with Root, custom partition, custom recovery and Lollipop
#1
Hello everyone

We (some guys over at [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] were trying to get the DG700 rooted and custom recovery and well.. turns out the russians at [another forum] had already done this! Smiling

This will work with both known versions of the DG700 - the one with the crocodile backplate as well the one with the smooth backplate!

So, I want to show you the translated instructions of how to get a rooted DG700 Android 5.0 Lollipop based on the R21 build - with better partition size and also TWRP custom recovery.
If you want a simpler method with the same outcome, [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

But the important things first:
The custom R21 build and the images used below were made by [another forum] for his instruction for this customized R21 made by him.
The custom TWRP recovery belongs to TEAMWIN and [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]!
The TWRP port for DG700 credits go to [another forum]
[b]All credits go to these guys, I just merely used their work for this instruction.

And again, tvladan from XDA made one flash to rule them all: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
You might want to use his great work instead of following my tutorial below as he made this much easier for everyone! Smiling

Disclaimer:
I'm not responsible for anything you're doing to your phone. Following this instruction will result in a clean flash of your phone, so you'll use your personal data!

- Download the rooted and repartitioned R21 package from [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register].
- Unpack everything to a folder of your choice
- Shut down the phone and open SP Flash Tools provided with the package, load the scatter from the R21 folder
- Click on the Format Tab, tick Validation and Manual Format Flash, enter the values 0x0000000045F80000 and 0x000000018CC80000, then click Start and only then connect your turned of phone
- When it is finished it will present a green ring
[another forum]

- Unplug the phone and go to the Download Tab, it should be filled with the data from the R21 scatter file (except for FAT, just ignore that)
- Click on download and only then connect your still turned off phone again
- When it is finished it will present a green ring
[another forum]

- Unplug your phone and turn it on, first start will take up to ten minutes, just be patient and wait
- When the phone has booted up and everything seems fine, turn it off again
- Load the scatter from the unpacked root_system_img folder
- Click on Download and only then connect your turned off phone
- When it is finished it will present a green ring
[another forum]

Now for installing the custom TWRP recovery:
- Download the recovery from [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
- Turn off your phone and load the R21 scatter file used above into SP Flash
- deselect everything and click on the location column from RECOVERY. This will open a dialog in which you will choose the recovery_TWRP_2860_DG700_LP.img
- make sure the only thing selected is RECOVERY with the recovery_TWRP_2860_DG700_LP.img file, click on Download and only then connect your turned off phone
- After flashing you will be presented with a error from SP Flash. Just ignore that, unplug the phone and turn it on.

To get into recovery you have to hold the Power and Volume up key when turning on the phone. This will present you with a little menu with three options: Recovery, Fastboot and Normal.
You can swich between them with Volume up and select your choice with Volume down. Select Recovery and after a few seconds you will be presented with the Touch TWRP recovery.
