hi, ive got a problem with flashing.

When i try to flash any custom or newer stock rom i got the 8038 error with SP Flash tool (tried 2 different versions). So i created my own scatter file from the original stock rom the phone came with (06. dec. one). With that i am able to flash the new rom but i got stuck at inew logo and the phone does not boot.
So i reflashed the original rom from my backup made with droid tools and that worked fine. Unbricked the phone but still the on the old rom.

What do i miss? Any idea?

It seems the drivers are ok, since i can flash the phone with the old rom backed up from the phone but i really cannot understand why it does not work with the roms i downloaded from this forum.

Please help!

Flash the entire firmware as you downloaded it and follow the instructions.

Make sure you're using at least 3.1328 or newer.

Select Preloader and choose Firmware Upgrade.

Are you using "Download" or "Upgrade" option?

Actually i use download because the upgrade somehow does not work for me. in case i try upgrade my phone does not go to download mode but it starts to charge.

Do i really need to flash the preloader? i read it everywhere that flashing preloader can brick the phone for good...

You installed PDANet ADB Drivers
You're using SP Flash Tools 3.1328 or newer and ran it as administrator
You selected the ENTIRE firmware as it was extracted from the download and are using the scatter from the download
You selected firmware upgrade.
You removed the battery and then put the battery back
You then clicked FIRMWARE UPGRADE
You then attached the USB cable

Correct?

So i have the drivers installed. correct.
I tried sp flashtool 1.1328 and also 1.1332. correct
i use the downloaded rom with the original scatter, but unselected PRELOADER (maybe that is the problem?)
I choose "Firmware -> Upgrade"
I remove the battery and replace it
i connect the usb cable
and my phone starts charging instead of downloading.

Ok, with preloader selected it started the dowloading. fingers crossed.

Do not be mad at me it is written on every android forums not to select preloader when flashing a new rom. So i am totally scared of flashing preloader but it seems upgrade does not work without it. sry i did not know.

Anyway thank you for your help both of you because it worked for this time!

Nobody's mad. Maybe just slightly frustrated haha. Hands

Not flashing preloader pertains to firmware you're not sure is for your phone. If you know it's firmware for your phone, then it's good to go.

Don't forget to factory reset - wipe data option 2.

Thx i learned something new today. A few years ago it was so much easyer flashing my old acer s100 liquid but also did not have any problems with the just retired umi x1s.
