we r quite lucky, because it is compatible to firefly V65, i had flash around 10 ROMS already. And the forum from V65 are quite strong and active (but in chinese)

How about sharing some of the better compatible ROMs in the iNew i6000 forum?

it is very beautiful with big bright display.
nice for read and play game or working in web browser.
you will love it.

i order 2gb ram with 32 gb rom but no have phone now then i buy 1 gb ram + 16 gb rom.
it is very excellent i think.
better than note1, note2.

I am sure I would love this phone.

Except my aliexpress seller lives up to the common reputation of the aliexpress sellers.
Supposedly shipped on July 31. Gave a tracking number which can't be tracked on China Mail website.
Does not answer the question whether he actually shipped.
Somehow I am not surprised.
Oh well.
Back to the drawing board Smiling

Good luck... I now opt for the more expensive DHL shipping, as it's much faster and more reliable.
My phone was shipped on a Thursday, it arrived the following Wednesday... That's saying a lot, because Italy sucks. My old Zopo was stuck in customs for 2 months, just to give you an idea.

Anyway, hope it works out for you. Some aliexpress vendors are garbage, and some are actually very nice and honest.

I actually tried the MIUI rom. It's actually faster than the stock rom. I would reupload it for the forum but my internet is not very good... Sad It can be found on the Chinese firefly forum and needrom.com.

Share the direct link to the download. You don't need to upload it. I created the iNew i6000 forum so people could share and discuss firmwares, fixes, patches etc.. Obviously I can't force people to use it and contribute though. So it's up to you guys to make it a cool spot to share and collaborate for your phone.

Ya, so far i had flashed about 10 roms, the one i am using now is
“FireflyV65-Samsung-0731”. after u flash, the ram left about 400M
every thing is smooth, except , there is no live wallpaper in the rom, i tried to install from play store, then run it, it start to behave weird, apart from live wallpaper, every thing is ok. For those who prefer TouchWiz, this is definite the choice

For miui rom. actually miui itself have some bug in it, so when they transplant, the bug is still there, i have try the first two miui, it is not good at all, but not the latest they uploaded on 30/07/2013, I did try, because I haf flash the F“FireflyV65-Samsung-0731”.

I had tried lewa rom, it is not so nice, after you install, the ram left is about 200m
the link, so amoun the rom for firefly 65, lewa accupies a lot of ram.

I also tried MyUi, Try MaXRom, KooBee, Xiaocai. They all had bug,

the blow link is provided by 91firefly.com
FIREFLY_V65_Xperia rom
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=2739268268&uk=873746493
it said ,after install , u have 500m ram left, I had downloaded today, but have not tried yet

Thanks.

That's the latest I've got from the seller:
"hello, friend
i am so sorry to tell you that our package was check by the chinese customs and not pass, so they sent it back to my post office, then they change the tracking number it is XXXXXXXXXXXX
pls waiting for it arrival, thank you so much for you understand."

Those evil Chinese customs..Their main goal is to prevent me from getting my phone..it is my third attempt to buy something from aliexpress.

I know Italy is quite bad in terms of getting stuff from China, some ebay sellers even refuse to ship to Italy.
But I am in the USA, there are absolutely no problems getting something from China. All my goodies from ebay are delivered on time. As of DHL, I am trying to save a few dineros, since I already have more phones than I need.

Don't know what to do. Hard to determine whether the seller is telling the truth.

Gizbeat, many thanks for creating a forum for this phone. It is already very valuable resource.

Latest update from the seller:

"Last night we got the post office reply, saying that this package is still not pass, because the phone with battery, recent Chinese and customs thorough investigation;"

Those evil, evil, evil Chinese customs...

How come none of my ebay Chinese sellers never complained about Chinese customs?

Must be specific for the Aliexpress sellers.

Yeah, some shipping companies don't allow batteries to be mailed... or maybe the rule is not more than 1 battery? I forget...
Actually here's all the rules about shipping lithium batteries (if you get bored waiting for your phone Tongue) http://www.airtransport-tozai.com/pdf/Li-Bat-2013EN.pdf

Yeah, I've heard about this too, I sent him a message about this, just ship the phone with one battery instead of two advertised, I am fine with this, I will not complain and will not declare the item not as described.
I am giving him another benefit of doubt, let's see what happens.

BTW, bertsmark, did you manage to find the universal charger for those batteries?

Gizbeat, maybe this thread belongs to the new i6000 forum? At your discretion of course.

In other news:

- DealExtreme, very reputable Chinese seller, now has 2GB 32GB version for $330 shipped. If my sale will not go thru, I am going for this.
- I was told that Firefly V65 is nothing but therebranded i6000 with the better name and more reputable company behind it, lol.

Meanwhile I am playing with my just arrived S7589. I am impressed to tell you the truth. I believe I will be even more impressed with my B6000 when it finally arrives.

After granting my one day time extension to the AliExpress seller, I finally received email notification that my i6000 2GB-ROM/32GB-RAM has successfully cleared customs into Germany via DHL!!! WoooHooo!
I was getting nervous, but if remainder of journey delivers the i6000 in excellent working order, then the $334.76 total (DHL $28.76) is well worth it!
I'll update upon receipt in case anyone else is interested in ordering through the same seller... the price was one of the best I could locate anywhere for this model and they do offer the free shipping option, if you're willing to wait for it.

Yeah, DealExtreme now sells it for $330 shipped, no DHL though.

I'd rather buy from them than from any aliexpress "shops".

Mine is a hundred bucks less for the "lite" 1GB/16GB version.

Except I did not get it and I doubt I will get it.

Oh well, beggars cannot be choosers. Big Grin

I can sell any quantity of anything for a minimum price, presuming that goods will never be delivered.
I can talk to God on this phone, but I don't have anything to say.
