That looks like a great price. It is very similar to my DG550, just 5" instead of 5.5" and 2GB RAM. If this would have been around when I was looking and settled on the DG550, I think I would have easily chosen the V3 Plus!

I would tend to agree, but the very weak battery tends to scare me off on the V3 Plus - using the same battery as the V3 (a "problem child") with no extra 3g frequencies was disappointing.
I expected much, much more from them, rather than just another 5" standard SOC 720 ips phone.

You have made very valid points, but given the price, it's outstanding. The original V3 went 4-5 hours onscreen when battery was properly charged. That should be more than enough to get most people through the day and then some.
Expecting "much, much more" and no way it could be sold at this price. 2GB RAM, MT6592, 720p. Its truly epic price wise. Even up to $150 (which is where it might fall after presale) makes it still outstanding, though obviously less so than at $125.
That being said, not having 900/2100 or 850/1900/2100 is a mistake these days.

Well, I have to admit, at the price you had me sold!
So... I used the link to Gearbest.com website and put in the code for the price plus shipping and no matter what I do it gives me a price of $156.38
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, it is posted incorrectly, or it is old fashioned bait and switch but either way I deleted it from my cart without a purchase. It also made me rethink yet another boring 720 5" screen, which seems like the mass produced standard, and left me thinking about something bigger.
At that price, after digging (being in the mood to buy a new toy!) for $8 more I can get the Elephone P2000 5.5 inch or for even less for a Flying Mega2 if I want the giant 6.3" screen.
Maybe I'll just wait to see what happens with gearbest or to see if I'm just being a goofball and doing something wrong!!

For some 5" is perfect. I think anything larger than 5.5" is fairly stupid to carry around. I see people holding 6"+ phones to their ear, it might be one of the goofiest public acts I've seen in recent years.
I'm not trying to be offensive, but that's just how I see it. I suppose same as you see it as boring.

The very initial price of $123 was only a couple days. It has now upped to as you saw it - $156. Apologies from Gearbest for not getting the price changed in the OP.

(Roger that on the price, thank you!)
No offense taken friend!
When I see people with 6" phones to their ear, I laugh myself. It looks like a waffle against someones head.
I have a ton of phones to tinker with, here and there. This means I use multiple ways to carry devices around for different purposes.
Examples:
When I wear a suit, it typically means I have real work to do. For these situations I have a few options. Sometimes, I need the capability/real estate of a tablet, but I don't want to drag my briefcase around or a laptop. This means a Samsung Mega or 7" phablet pad, either of which fit in various pockets. However, I sure don't want to take out this monstrosity to answer a phone call!! For these situations I use the Samsung bluetooth "pen". The pen sits in my shirt or suit pocket, it vibrates, and I just answer it.
Sometimes I wear an Omate with the bluetooth pen or pair with a headset for answering calls and listening to music. It works rather slick when I want to go light and it draws women like flies for some reason.
What can I say, I'm into the "network of the individual".
I totally see where you are coming from and I think you may misunderstand my point of view a bit. I'm really not talking about the resolution and 5" as a negative - personally I believe that 4.5-5" is the sweet spot for the human hand - but that is just opinion.
What I was trying to say, rather badly, was as an observer of devices and trends, that the 5" 720 is kind of a current standard. Sure, there are lesser resolution screens, but it is essentially the minimum high-def in the marketplace. In other words, nothing worthy of note because it is ubiquitous in the worlds cellular markets. I guess I was looking for something different or truly impressive out of iNew (other than another form factor). Like maybe an extra frequency or two, a higher resolution 5" screen powered by a more efficient and more powerful battery... something. Instead I just saw the exact same product I already decided had too many fleas (for me) with an updated SOC and 1GB more RAM at a good price to be sure, but still lacking that one extra "something" in my mind.
Anyways, I suspect we agree far more than disagree. I believe it is a fine device within its limitations... I was just hoping that iNew would have addressed some of those limitations before releasing the product. Heck, I would have been impressed with the added option of an bit fatter battery compartment/back with a more powerful battery for those long plane trips so I wouldn't have to carry a damn battery backup or spare!
Oh well...
Either way, I am very interested to see how this product holds up and compares to the original V3 and its various issues and I still may buy one for the heck of it.
Cheers!

I was a little surprised to see a $127 presale price. It must have been a classic bait and switch because I was unable to get the promised $127 price even when I used the coupon code. Still, at $156, it's the cheapest price I've seen so far for the V3 plus.
+REP if I helped :-)
How the hell do you set a signature in your profile?? I'm tired of adding this +REP SH*T with every post I make.
