[iNew V8] New stock firmware
#11
V5 series is MTK Flash tool. V3 series is SP Flash Tool.

Flash using the image shown in the first post with SP_MDT. That is different than MTK Flash Tool or SP Flash Tool.

There's no need to play with lk.bin

I succesfully upgraded my firmware to 20140912_e2702v92_cxq1 via SP_MDT.

For those interested I've uploaded a CWM recovery (auto generated via MTK Droid Tool) and a compatible SuperSU update zip for ROOT...

[Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

I do have an issue though...
I used Louise777's scatter and EBR1 and EBR2 files and used the SP Flash Tool in 'Upgrade Firmware' mode however the phone keeps saying Damaged Phone storage, try reformatting. I do this but the error returns after each reboot.

I've also tried simply replacing the modified EBR files in the ROM folder and using SP_MDT to reflash but the error persists? Any ideas?

Curiously, if I compare the original scatter file and the modded one the EBR1 and EBR2 linear start addresses appear the same?

----------------------------
UPDATE

I resolved this by using the original scatter and just replacing the EBR1 and EBR2 files with the modified ones in @Gizbeat's original post... reflashed via SP_MDT... error gone Smiling

If you have any further errors, use the EBRs in the first post. They are set for 3.5 internal and 9.7 phone. The standard 3.5 values for EBR2 resulted in 200MB larger combined reported storage than stock and persistent corruption, so throttled back the EBR2 a bit.

Hello,

Hello,

the only change, is the name from EBR1&2 by EBR1_3_5GB and EBR2_3_5GB!

Maybe your MDT Tool need the Original Name EBR1 & EBR2

You save your File on other Place and rename my File like Original!

My Scatter is no needed to changed the Name! If the Adresses in both Scatter the same, you can use this one or the other one! The change is in the EBR's.

Remember on my Example!

This is recommended from me!

Good luck

Greetings

Louis777

P.s. Maybe I wrote the Name wrong - I mean MTK Flash Tools V5.xxx!

Hi Gizbeat,

Sounds like you have direct contact with iNew tech department. Are they interested in bug reports?

I noticed a bug in the People/Contacts app and upgraded to 12092014 ROM hoping it might have been addressed... perhaps someone can confirm the same bug.

In the People app or when browsing Contacts in the dialler the alphabetized slider down the right hand side of the screen does not seem to work from the letter A until you reach the letter T?

E.g. I can slide down the right hand side and the blue letter in the middle of the screen changes but the contacts do not move until I reach T. Once you reach T the contact will scroll through to Z but once you slide back up to S the contacts jump back to A contacts.

Yes, I do have contacts in between A and T Big Grin

I'm currently on August firmware, but its scrolling fine for me. Did you have the same bug with the older firmware? All of my contacts are from Google. No SIM contacts.

Yes, I had the same issue on previous ROM which was version 22072014.

All my contacts are also Google apart from a couple of automatic network operator ones on the SIMS.

Seems odd if your phone is okay. So you are running 05082014 version?

Curiously, in the app settings if I change contacts to display from All contacts to only show my Google contacts it works fine however when I change back to All contacts the errors returns.

Yes, am on 05082014. I was doing some testing and too lazy to switch back. According to iNew, there will be an update "coming soon", but don't let that get your hopes up... Soon could be a month or two from now. I don't expect it to be that long, but...

I am on All contacts and they're scrolling fine. This likely isn't a phone issue, but a ROM / app / sync issue.

- Do you have any other contacts management app installed?

- I assume you are dragging your finger from the very top right, correct?

- What happens if you just tap a letter as opposed to scrolling?

- Have you tested with touch apps to make sure your phone is sensing touch in the A-S area?

@nikstar - Yes, all the contacts are in English.

@Gizbeat -

- No, I haven't installed any other contact management app.
- Yes, the scroll function is working/touch panel etc. as the blue letter in the middle of the screen changes... only the contacts don't scroll. I might try and PM you a link to a screen capture video to illustrate.
- Tapping a letter has the same effect as sliding.

As a side note: I am finding since upgrading to 12092014 I'm getting a lot of double touches/phantom touches on the screen that I didn't observe previously when using 22072014. Notice it most when using the home button and the phone vibrates 2 or sometimes even 3 times.
