Very unlikely, but it is the same chipset as Xiaomi Mi4i. It might workout if a seasoned developer wanted to try.

There is a thread with TWRP flashing links. But i believe everyone on this forum would not recommend you to update to 3.1 as 98% of the users experienced unusable ROM after flashing it (blinking screen, no SIM detected...etc).
If you still want it be sure to backup your phone before

I have just stayed with 2.7. There seems to be no problems with it.

Well I'm on the ROM v2.7 and when I tried to install apps from the amazon store nothing happens when I press on the "Install" button after the download. Sometimes it works though.

Was anyone able to set up their email account on the default email app? Since I bought this phone I always got errors. Had to use other Email apps.

I just updated to V3.1
Remove sim card and you can update by OTA to V3.2
then there is no problem with the SIM card
there is no access to Google account, but otherwise it seems to work fine
with Danish(DK) sim card

Has anyone found out why some units do random reboots?
My units seems to have a lot less reboots after I disabled the OTA update components.
