[Tutorial] BROM ERROR-Possible Remedies-Chapter 2°

BROM ERROR
Potential solutions to the common errors of Sp Flash Tool

SECOND CHAPTER

The following is a an inventory of the most common errors of SP Flash Tool
accompanied with a brief explanation and, above all, their eventual solution.

ERROR 5056

The full reporting as follows : BROM ERROR : S_DL_PMT_ERR_NO_SPACE (5056)

Meaning :
This error occurs when the size of a file is larger than the size of the partition.

Possible solutions :
Make sure that the firmware is compatible with your phone.


ERROR 5066

The full reporting as follows : BROM ERROR : S_DL_PC_BL_INVALID_GFH_FILE_INFOR (5066)

Meaning :
the scatter file that is not suitable to be processed with SP Flash Tool.

Possible solutions : Flash a firmware more compatible with your phone.


ERROR 5069

The full reporting as follows : BROM ERROR : S_DL_PMT_ERR_NO_SPACE (5069)

Meaning :
This error occurs when the size of a file is larger than the size of the partition.

Possible solutions :
Make sure that the firmware is compatible with your phone.


ERROR 6010

The full reporting as follows :
SP FLASHTOOL ERROR 6010 CODE DOWNLOAD FORBIDDEN

Meaning : Your phone might has locked bootloader.

Possible solutions :

1) Remove the checkmark from "Preloader" (normally should be always done)
and flash all the rest.
2) Unlock the bootloader with "Fastboot" (fastboot oem unlock).


ERROR 6012

The full reporting as follows :
S_SECURITY_SF_CODE_COMMAND_FORBIDDEN (6012), MSP ERROR CODE: 0X00

Meaning :
The "Download-Agent" you are using is not compatible with your phone.

Possible solutions :
Use "MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin" as "Download-Agent".


ERROR 6047

The full reporting as follows :
BROM ERROR: S_SECURITY_SECURE_USB_DL_IMAGE_HASH_FAIL

Meaning : The integrity check (hash) is failed.

Possible solutions :

1) Try to use a newer version of SP Flash Tool.
2) Open SP Flash Tool, click on "Option",
click on "Download" and select "DA DL All with Checksum".


ERROR 6124

The full reporting as follows :
BROM ERROR: S_SECURITY_INVALID_PROJECT (6124), MSO ERROR CODE: 0X00

Meaning :
The origin and the explanation of this error is not easily understood.
It might depends from USB port,
or from the location where it was unpacked SP Flash Tool.

Possible solutions :
Also the solutions, such as the meaning, are quite ambiguous and not guaranteed.

1) Someone suggest to open SP Tool, click "Options",
click "DA Download All", click "Speed" and click "Full Speed".
2) Someone suggest to open SP Tool, click "Options",
click "Connections", click "Speed USB" and click "Full Speed".
3) Someone suggest to open SP Tool, click "Options",
click "Download" and remove the checkmark from "DA DL All with Checksum".
4) Someone simply suggest to change the USB port (possibly back ports).
5) Someone suggest to unpack SP Flash Tool directly on C.
6) Someone suggest to open SP Tool,
click "Format" (make sure there is a blue sign on "Format whole flash except Bootloader").
Then, click tab "Download" and flash the whole firmware.


ERROR 8038

The full reporting as follows :
SP FLASH TOOL ERROR - PMT is ready and layout has been changed

Meaning :
SP Flash Tool is having problems writing on the partitions of your phone,
due to incompatibility.

Possible solutions :

1) Try the option "Firmware Upgrade", instead of "Download Only".
2) Open SP Flash Tool, click tab "Format",
make sure that there is a blue sign on "Format whole flash except Bootloader",
click on "Start" (blue arrow),
then, click on tab "Download" and flash the entire firmware.


ERROR 8100

The full reporting as follows :
BROM ERROR: ?? (8100), MSP ERROR CODE: 0x00

Meaning : SP Flash Tool is not able to find the USB port.

Possible solutions :

1) Try to change the USB port (preferably the back ports, if you have a desktop pc).
2) It is possible that the drivers have been installed wrong.
Remove all drivers (VCOM, ADB, Preloader and MTK) with the next software :

ERROR 8200

The full reporting as follows : BROM ERROR: SP FLASH TOOL ERROR (8200)

Meaning :
This error appears when you attempt to flash a rom for a phone with a different SoC.

Possible solutions : Flash a firmware compatible with your phone.


ERROR 8406

The full reporting as follows : SP FLASH TOOL ERROR (8406)

Meaning : An incompatibility issue has interrupted the flash process.

Possible solutions :

1) Try to flash a different firmware, more compatible with your phone.
2) Try to update the VCOM driver.


ERROR 8417

The full reporting as follows :
Initialize scatter file failed. Please check the scatter file name you load is legal

Meaning : The scatter file was compiled incorrectly.

Possible solutions :
Open the scatter file with Notepad ++ and check the first line,
it should be as follows :

########################################## General Setting #

If there are other writings before that line,
delete them and save the scatter file.

NOTE :

For Windows users, the best is undoubtedly "Notepad ++".
For Linux users, I suggest "Notepadqq".
The graphics of "Notepadqq" is much more spartan than "Notepad ++",
If you do not like the graphics of "Notepadqq",
I suggest you "Kate".
To install "Notepadqq", open the terminal and type the next commands :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: notepadqq-team/notepadqq

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install notepadqq

To install "Kate", open the terminal and type the next command :

sudo apt-get install kate


ERROR 0xFDA

The full reporting as follows :
BROM ERROR: S_FT_GET_MEMORY_FAIL (0xFDA)

Meaning :
Error during the reading process of storage of your phone.

Possible solutions :

1) Try to change the USB port (preferably the back ports, if you have a desktop pc).
2) Try to replace the USB cable.
3) Try to use a different computer.


ERROR 0x13BE

The full reporting as follows :
S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL (0x13BE)

Meaning :
The firmware you are trying to flash is not compatible with your phone.
Or, you have selected (in SP Flash Tool) the incorrect flash options.

Possible solutions :

1) Make sure that the firmware is compatible with your phone.
2) Try to remove the checkmark from any element that is empty.


ERROR ?? (0x3)

The full reporting as follows : BROM ERROR:?? (0x3)

Meaning :
SP Flash Tool has difficulty in maintaining stable communication with the phone.

Possible solutions :

1) Try to reinstall the VCOM driver (see ERROR 8100).
2) Try to change the USB port (preferably the back ports, if you have a desktop pc).
3) Try to replace USB cable.
4) Try to use a different computer.
5) Try to use a newer version of SP Flash Tool.


ERROR 0×7D4

The full reporting as follows :
BROM ERROR: S_BROM_DOWNLOAD_DA_FAIL

Meaning :
SP Flash Tool is run into an error during the flash process.

Possible solutions :

1) Try to change the USB port (preferably the back ports, if you have a desktop pc).
2) Check that the battery power is not less than 30%.
3) Try to replace the USB cable.
4) Try to use a newer version of SP Flash Tool.
5) Try to use a different computer.


ERROR 0x8

The full reporting as follows : BROM ERROR: ?? (0x8)

Meaning :
This error occurs when the size of a file is larger than the size of the partition.

Possible solutions :

1) Make sure that the firmware is compatible with your phone.
2) Try to use a newer version of SP Flash Tool.
3) Try to use a different computer.


ERROR 0XFC0

The full reporting as follows :
BROM ERROR S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (OXFC0)

Meaning :
The firmware you are trying to flash is not compatible with your phone.
Or, you have selected (in SP Flash Tool) the incorrect flash options.

Possible solutions :

1) Make sure that the firmware is compatible with your phone.
2) Try to remove the checkmark from any element that is empty.
3) Try to reinstall the VCOM driver (see ERROR 8100).
4) Try to delete the folder of SP Flash Tool,
and extract it once again from the archive rar (or zip).
5) Try to use a newer version of SP Flash Tool.
6) Try to click on the tab "Format", select "Auto Flash Format",
make sure that "Format whole flash except Bootloader" is selected,
then click "Start" (blue arrow).
7) Try to press "Volume Down" while connect the phone to the PC with USB cable.
Also try the combination keys "volume up", or "power" + "volume down",
or "power" + "volume up".


ERROR 0X411

The full reporting as follows :
BROM ERROR: S_CHKSUM_ERROR (0X411)

Meaning : There was a checksum error during the flash process.

Possible solutions :

1) Open SP Flash Tool, click on "Option", click on "Download"
and remove the checkmark from "DA DL All with Checksum".
2) A possible solution, even though it is a pretty risky,
could be "Checksum Generator" & "MTK SP Multi Port Download Tool".
Please follow all the steps in the "ERROR 4017" (Chapter 1°).


ERROR 0xFA1

The full reporting as follows :
BROM ERROR : S_FT_DA_NO_RESPONSE (0xFA1)

Meaning :
It indicates a communication issue between your phone and PC.

Possible solutions :

1) Try to change the USB port (preferably the back ports, if you have a desktop pc).
2) Try to replace the USB cable.
3) Check that the battery power is not less than 30%.
4) Make sure that VCOM driver has installed on your pc.
5) Try to use a different computer.


IMPORTANT :

In these 2 chapters,
I have listed only the errors that occur with greater frequency.
I am sorry to inform you that the BROM ERRORS are much more.
Unfortunately, for many of them I have not found any solution.

For Windows users, I recommend "Notepad ++".
