Hello,
I have bought this tablet :

That would be a octa core , 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Flash but reality is another...

I have opened it and nothing is right.

Are you sure it's the right firmware (vkB072L): on this website it 's say it's a 8 cores. But the MT8321A is only a quad core...

Hi Omegapr,
I have two another question for you:
1 - Another tablet with marking on PCB : I960-MB-V3.0 , but custom build is vKB011E, I don't find it on jlinksz ftp... which is the right? How do you determine it?

2 - Where can I find a tutorial to flash tablet with img files (from firmware vkB072L) ?

For example, load your scatter file, untick preloader, click download, hold power on + volume up buttons at the same time, now connect your tablet to the PC with a USB cable until the BeTools program recognises your device.

Once you see BeTools starting to load your files you can then take your fingers off the power on and volume key. Wait for the program to display it has finished and if it is the right ROM, your tablet will start.

It may need to be recharged too because flashing can and does drain the battery within seconds.

First thanks for the quick reply the other is I managed to load the file by using the scatter included in the folder and I don`t see preloader on the list at all like I would with SP flash tool.
The other also there is no option to untick any of them like I tried to do the recovery as you suggested.

I see the following listed;

LK
Boot
Recovery
Logo
Custom
Secro

Cache
Userdata

I get stuck here " Waiting for DA USB VCOM PORT see picture please !

Now I installed port drivers ,etc and it downloaded and ready but the tablet still loading and ANDROID letters are visible.

Now as you can see I managed to install VCOM etc port drivers by disabling Windows Driver Signature. If you look at the photos you`ll see there was one error but I changed the usb port and then before the last picture happened, It downloaded now the tablet still showing the letters with android.
Will see I let it be like that for a while in case it installing it self if not then I`ll go into recovery and clear the cache and do a factory reset. I`ll post the result here!

Aside from this, use a process of elimination and try and figure out what the specific problem is.
-What does the error code mean?
I searched google for the Error Code 5054. Sometimes BeTools, Jlink, Wise Link and SP Flash have the same codes, sometimes not.
♦Connect error[5054], your flash files is not compatible with your phone.
♦Other searches suggest it could be that your original preloader is corrupt.

-Then with this answer I would try flashing using another Flash program just to make sure you get the same or different error or no error.

Try a couple of versions of SP Flash. With SP Flash if the latest version doesn't work, go back to the previous version or later and try to flash - do not flash preloader.

Run SP Flash as an Administrator and use the compatibility settings in Properties to run it in XP Sp2 or Win7. This will reduce potential bugs and runtime errors.

To load the scatter file in SP Flash, use the drop down to 'show all files'. This will show you the .sca for you to select.

You may need to manually assign the files in SP Flash like I did in the pictures for your ROM. To do this, open BeTools, load the scatter file and then do the same in SP Flash. This way you can read which line goes where. Each line in BeTools corresponds to the same line in SP Flash.

Make sure there are no Chinese symbols in the scatter file names because this will stop any flash program and you'll have to CTR ALT DEL, Task Manager and End Task.

I added a folder exception to my antivirus (Malwarebytes, ESET) because it picked up the chinese characters and Chinese spammy apps embedded in the files and removed them without my knowledge. This caused many hours of error upon error without me even knowing WHY!!

-If you get the same 5054 error after doing all this, then you can start to consider that perhaps your preloader is corrupt or the KB072L ROM is not compatible with your tablet meaning it's the wrong ROM for your tablet.

-But before this nightmare scenario is confirmed, check your MTK Drivers are installed correctly and then check that your VCOM drivers are installed correctly. Remember to restart your pc after installing or uninstalling each set of drivers. Your pictures look like they are ok, because the first driver to display when you flash is: MTK VCOM USB and the 2nd should be MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM or some variation of these words.

Just double check these pesky drivers. I must have installed and uninstalled them at least 10 times each, using different sources each time because they just wouldn't work properly. Don't forget windows10 updates and can automatically remove parts or all of them without your knowledge which can cause the drivers not to work the way they are supposed to.

If however you are positive it's the correct ROM, and your Drivers are all good, you can decide whether or not to flash the preloader if you can figure out how to load it. Remember you can never go back and undo this, so consider your options carefully because if you flash the wrong preloader ROM, you can only revive your brick with the exact original ROM.

Here's some info to consider:
What the Chinese do is load a base ROM onto a tablet (eg KB004C, KBxxx) and then overlay another program with amends the real specifications of MT6580/2 1.3ghz, 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 4 core, 680x480 .... to a higher and better specifications which display on your tablet and they helpfully include a spammy none removeable app: AnTuTu that allows you to check your tablet's specs. These spoofed specs are also displayed on specdevices.com, after people use the site's service to check their specs.

The real specifications cannot be visibly displayed unless you root your tablet, however you'll notice your '1800x1200' resolution is crap, your system is super slow and you run out of memory and hard drive space despite your tablet showing heaps and heaps of space still available. Often rooting results in a brick, which is what happened to me. I flashed the preloader early in my search for a solution and could not overcome this. The Chinese seller often don't know which ROM went out on which tablet and to who that was sent to, so don't count on your seller knowing or evening having the ROM for your device. You can always ask them to provide you with the original firmware/ROM though.

The ScaHardward folder in my BeTools folder (also found at the Jlinksz site) is the small program that changes the specifications.

So first of all thank you for the reply.
I did managed the flashing with BeTools but the issue still exist.
I mean there is two ROM for this 1 with GMS and 1 with no GMS.
I tried both of them and the one with the GMS freezes almost as soon as I start the tablet.
The other one isn`t but there is no Google Play store and even I downloaded the APK for Lollipop ( I assume it`s not Lollipop but something else) so it won`t start and after a while it just stops doing anything.

I installed 360 Security and managed to clean the tablet also did the reset by putting a pin into that thiny hole under the power button that helps sometimes when stops at bootscreen.

How ever the issue stills exist after flashing, the tablet freezes on it`s own or something with the RAM gets full. I don`t know that much.

Any idea what could be the problem? I downloaded the ROM from here [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I do not know what the exact problem is and it sounds like you're super close to reviving your brick - exciting but frustrating.

Take some photos of your tablet starting up and post a thread on [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] forum and one of their technical support guys will know exactly what the problem is and be able to point you in the next direction.

I really hope you can get your tablet back up and running.
