Hi Cleopatra,

Thank you for your work on portingTWRP for the F7. Can you help me out with a little problem? I'm trying to flash TWRP instead of booting it, so that it replaces the standard Doogee recovery.
TWRP works fine when I boot it from fastboot using
Code:
fastboot boot C:\recovery.img
So I thought I go ahead and flash it using:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

(The recovery image is both in the root of my harddrive and in the ADB-folder)

The flashing part seems to go OK. It says it has been flashed correctly. However when I try to go to the recovery using
Code:
adb reboot recovery
or using vol-up + power, it keeps loading the standard Doogee recovery instead of TWRP. Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Kind regards,
marnox

Hello.

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img is a WRONG command.

Please follow carefully all the steps at the post number eight.

I have. And it is working correctly if I follow the steps in post eight. However, I want to permanently flash TWRP instead of "sideloading" it from the PC each time I want to flash something. Is there a way to do this?

You can NOT flash permanently the TWRP.
It is because the touch screen does NOT work.
The touch screen works well ONLY with "sideloading" option.

Is it crystal clear now ?

Yes, thank you. I had found out the issue with the touchscreen, but I thought I did something wrong which caused the touchscreen problem. Thanks for your help and the support!

Fleeing some of the topic, does anyone know where to buy parts for the Doogee F7, touchscreen and doc?

I followed all of the procedures explained by Cleopatra in her post #8 (except for using the SP Flash Tool, for whatever reason I did not know, the installation was stoped at 100%, and it would be blocked as if it lost contact with the phone).

But I got the purposes of it.

And I think that instead of all the times I needed to use the recovery, to have to use the PC I could do it permanently, I set my hands to work.

I found another TWRP version for the Doogee F7 and using the PC I copied that version and the original version to the storage root of the phone.

I ran TWRP through ADB and then: Install, changed the .zip format by .img, went to the root of the phone's storage, started the new recovery version and then rebooted into recovery mode and voila, the recovery system is working for the purposes it was created.

If it had not given the expected results, I would have made the installation of the original recovery and have returned to its original state.

PS: The working TWRP is the version 3.0.2 by Jemmini

3) Tap on Settings --> About phone --> Tap Build number seven times.
Developer options --> OEM unlocking enabled and USB debugging enabled.

4) Download SuperSU.zip and BusyBox.zip at the next link :

[Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

5) Unrar 2017_SU-BU.rar. Copy the 2 zips onto your microSD.

STEPS TO DO ONCE ONLY :

6) Plug your phone to PC via USB cable.
Allow the pop up request on your phone to give your PC USB debugging.
7) Open CMD (command prompt).
8) Type the next command :

adb reboot bootloader (and press enter)

9) Now type the next command :

fastboot oem unlock (and press enter)

10) Press volume up (into your phone) to confirm to unlock the bootloader.
You will see in the CMD prompt the next messages :

"Start unlock flow", and when it will be finished, you will see "OKAY".

11) Reboot in normal mode (be patient, when you unlock the bootloader, the phone reset to factory).
12) Now tap 7 times on Build number.
Then Developer options, and re-enable OEM unlocking and USB debugging.

STEPS TO DO EVERY TIME YOU NEED TWRP RECOVERY :

13) Copy the TWRP (recovery.img) into the same folder of fastboot.exe and adb.exe ( c:\adb\ ).
14) Connect your phone to the PC via USB cable.
15) Open CMD (command prompt) and type the next command :

adb reboot bootloader (and press enter)

16) Now type the next command :

fastboot boot c:\adb\recovery.img (and press enter)

17) Swipe to allow modification of System.
18) Now - the most important thing - tap on Backup.
19) Check mark on Nvram, Boot, System and Data.
20) Tap on Select Storage, tap on MicroSDCard, tap on OK.
21) Tap Swipe to Backup.
22) Return to the main menù of TWRP.

VITAL STEPS :

23) Tap Install. Tap on Select Storage. Tap Micro SDCard. Tap OK.
24) Tap on SuperSU zip
25) Swipe to confirm Flash.
26) Tap on Reboot.
27) Tap on the icon of SuperSU to activate it.

WARNING :
Every time that you are onto TWRP recovery,
DO NOT disconnect the phone from pc.
