Why refunded?

I have ordered several phones with Gearbest and had a decent experience - in other words I came back with new orders and even recommended to friends.
I have to say, though, that my recent experience has been quite negative.

Like other people I wanted to have the ulefone be pro and ordered for the $135 with a couponcode in order W1502050244179219. Paid with PayPal and after a while of being in Processing state the order was refunded due to "Our payment partner has unfortunately decided not to accept the payment. However, you can still submit a new order and pay with Wire Transfer or Western Union." I never got any better answers via the ticketing system....

Decided to order again in order number W1502102229183529, but now the couponcode was expired and the total price was now $146.99. I paid via my Mastercard on 11/2. New Years started in China and everything went silent in status "Processing". Fair enough, I knew and expected that. Finally this morning I ended up writing Gearbest in a ticket and asked when I could expect a shipment on the order. After a few hours they refunded the order with the exact same reason of "not accepting the payment". No response to the ticket....

What's going on?! Have anyone else had this experience? I seriously don't get it, I order a lot of things online with several shops and Paypal - why on earth do I get rejected?!

Hello @magicx . Is your address verified on PayPal? Some China shops are very sensitive to accepting payments from unverified addresses. Not saying that's what's going on, just throwing a possibility out there.

Please send screenshots of any relevant communication you've had with Gearbest to [email protected]. (or not, but it will help with communication with them).

What does PayPal information say? Has it been "processing" for these last couple weeks on PayPal, or this was a notice on Gearbest?

Was the "Our payment partner has unfortunately decided not to accept the payment. However, you can still submit a new order and pay with Wire Transfer or Western Union." from Gearbest or PayPal?

The reference to Processing was at Gearbest and the same goes in the "Refund" mail stating payment partner didn't accept the payment. Yes, address is verified with Paypal.
In the second order I didn't even use Paypal, but paid directly with my credit card.

So the PayPal money was refunded, and the 2nd payment was made prior to China holiday. Is this correct?

We will have to focus on the MasterCard issue. It would have been great if you'd posted the PayPal issue when it happened. I'm not saying its your fault, but not possible to help unless you contact admin or post a thread. So we'll focus on current MC event.

My guess is Gizbeat will get you the initial coupon price, but no guarantees.

Yes, should have brought up with Paypal on the first order, but since Gearbest several times replied back that their partner did not accept my payment I figured this as a minor glitch and just placed the next order.

It might be that there's something with my credit rating somewhere (if so, I'm still pretty puzzled :-)), but why did it then take Gearbest from 11/2 till yesterday to figure this out?

Well 2 weeks of that was holiday. They have hundreds of orders every day and thousands built up from the holiday.

I do understand your point, and sorry for the delay in letting you know regarding MC.

In my experience Gearbest has been superb with communication. But obviously not perfect.

@Gizbeat has let me know he's in direct contact with Gearbest regarding this. Waiting to hear back from management now.
