I have made a couple of the nandroid backups thru the proper CWM recovery.img.
Tried to restore and got "Error! Could not restore the system".
Anyone else had experience this?
I would hate not being able to trust my CWM nandroid backups.
I can talk to God on this phone, but I don't have anything to say.

At this point I would test every nandroid backup by wiping cache/factory reset.
If it works/restores, great. If it does not, delete it.
You need to have at least one WORKING backup though.

Yes, same problem here! Luckily I still had my Titanium Backup, it's just a little more work to restore that, as I have to put back all my ringtones and some of the other settings.
It seems that only restoring my latest backup works, which is always based on the ROM you wanted to replace :-( . Also, restoring the backup works partly; my error message was saying 'error restoring data' or something, so I could boot the phone, but had to restore some apps seperately.
I read that flashing the original ROM first (at the time you made the backup) would help, but it didn't.

Just in case someone searches for this; I now have CWM6 installed and no more errors!

Going to share what you did to fix the problem?
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

Okay. I thought CM6 was the goal. I didn't realize it was the solution. I understand you now.

For the rest of us: where did you get it?
From XDA or on this site?
