Anyone tried MIUI Lite/express already?
its the next step up from the MIUI Home Launcher,
includes Call, SMS and some more apps and not only Theme, Launcher and Lockscreen like home launcher.
basically it's meant for phones which don't have a MIUI ROM so users can enjoy somewhat a MIUI experience.
will give it a try on the iNew v3 and report....

if you have a mi account, you can find it on the official mi site. otherwise you have to google for the apk (miui lite 1.8 is the current one)
i have tried it out for a few hours on the iNew v3, but since its not the full MIUI experience i don't like it that much, its too much difference between the MIUI elements and standard Android stuff.
so for me - either MIUI all the way or not at all.

There is a thread about this somewhere here with links. I found it to slow down the phone significantly.

probably because it is optimized for 2GB RAM (it states also in the requirements)
nevertheless, i personally find the change between MIUI elements and standard android to jarring. MIUI is really nice, but only if you have the full experience. unfortunately there still is no really usable and stable MIUI ROM for the iNew v3.
I am debating with myself if i should shell out some more money and get a Xiaomi device.
since soon i wont be needing dual SIM anymore and i really like the look of the MI3.... oh my. probably better to wait until the announcement on 22nd what comes next (MI3s or Mi4)

My favorite part about full MIUI is the way you can change the themes.
Not just the homescreen and icons change when you change themes. The notification drop-down gets themed, the settings menus get themed, the shutdown and bootup animations get themed. I believe the dialer too, but could be mistaken there. Been awhile since tried MIUI.

yes you are right, that is pretty awesome about MIUI. no need to replace framework or install tools and iconpacks and stuff. sure you can customize standard android also, but the problem mostly is that you will not get a seamless experience unless you spend a really long time tweaking. MIUI is a bit timeless compared to that, since it is really well integrated and has a nice feel to it. all the Apple-esqe crap they introduced can be removed as well (like having no app menu - can be resolved)
i was a Touchwiz fan for years because of the nice goodies Samsung added, but Touchwiz became very bloated and takes a lot of resources.
MIUI is a lot sleaker and doesnt feel as bloated in comparison. it really grows on me the longer i research about it.
if you are on the development ROM you also get automatically root access, and more or less a weekly update. really cool
