[Question] Doogee DG800 - No deep sleep mode

Hello to everybody.

I recently bought the doogee dg800. It is a great phone but I noticed the abnormal consumption battery

I put it under control with batterbatterystatus and actually can confirm that the phone never goes into deep sleep mode and remain in a awake state all the time. To tell the truth I had already installed several applications, but also after freezing all app, the problem remain.

Unfortunately the kernel does not allow to trace the kernel wakelock because for unknow reason the used kernel do not support it (there is not the expected path /proc/wakelocks). So we can not understand what is the function that keeps our phone always awake.

Is there someone with clean phone that can do a further test to confirm the above analysis?

I am inclined to think that it is a problem of the kitkat rom rather than doogee device, but I found discordant information . I'm no expert, I'm just trying to put together information taken from various international forum.

Anyone, in this expert forum can help me/(us)?

Your guess regarding it being due to the OS/drivers/kernel as opposed to the phone is correct.

It could possibly be due to installed apps or other changes to the phone, but its unlikely. The only way to test is do a factory reset. Remember that when first 'setting up' a phone, some kernel wakelocks will be engaged by Google services as it updates and syncs.

Re kernel wakelock logging, This is due to the Aliyun OS. Unfortunately several China brand manufacturers have been switching over to Aliyun.

Inexplicably and against proper Linux practices, Aliyun does not log kernel wakelocks, or at least does not log kernel wakelocks in a way that is read by the likes of GSam and betterbatterystats.

If you factory reset and still have the problem, I'd recommend trying official 4.2.2 if it's available.

Unfortunatelly there is not a previous firmware version for this model and I would like to keep the factory reset as a last resort.

It would be nice if someone could do some verification on a bought clean phone.

You have to factory reset or flash orginal ROM and NOT install the OTA july update. So the problem is the doogee update of fuly
