[Question] HERO H3000+: MTK6577 best Tool & ROM

Hi everybody,

I just signed up here and hope you can help me out with your knowledge :-)

I must confess I'm a total noob when it comes to china phones ;)

here I have a Hero H3000+ now. I saw there are soooo many different Rooting Tools and ways to do the rooting on those phones. But which is the best (and most easy) one you can recommend?

And same questions for the ROMS. Which one best for you? It's gonna be my mum's phone... so it doesn't have to be very technical to use... I mean stuff like superuser or so is not really needed :-)

I used Cool Root and posted the details of installation in the thread. It was my first time rooting an Android phone, it's super easy and it did not require setting up any special connection to the computer; I copied it to the phone's SD card via Bluetooth.

I don't know if there's any source for Hero 3000+ factory firmware, so you may wish to consider making a complete stock firmware backup as the first item on any "To Do" list. That's really the big problem with many China phones... poor or no access to manufacturer support or software updates. If you're unfamiliar with related utilities, make sure you do your homework and just be aware that most require a Windows PC. The only 3000+ ROM I have seen can be found on NeedRom.

If you haven't uncovered some problem with the phone as it is now, I would suggest little to no modification.
