Just recently got my i6000 and i thought to share my thoughts of the phone after using it for a couple of days.
Some basic info:
Baseband: MOLY.WR8.W1248.MD.WG.MP.V6.P9, 2013/07/09
Kernel: 3.4.5 root@android #1 Tue Sep 10 22:17:17 CST 2013
Build: 06v20_v89t_cxq2_fhd_inew_20130913
First off: Its HUGE! If you don't like to lugg around an almost 7" telephone (or phablet) this aint the phone for you.
Build quality: The build quality is good, all parts fits nicely together. The overall feeling is good and the weight gives a comforting feeling.
Included items: EU power plug, USB cable, earphones. (as expected) I bought it directly from iNew so i got an additional pen, screen protector and a real nice flipcase with a detachable backcover (from the case itself)!
Screen: The screen is very good. Fortunately i haven't noticed any of the blue tint some others have reported in the bottom of the screen.
Sound: The volume is good; system, media and phone. When i'm talking i use both the speakers and they produce good quality. There is a noticeable distortion on the loudspeaker if the volume is cranked up to high but that happens on my old SGIII also. I would say that's due to the small size and whatnot...
GPS: Tried it together with Google maps and i got a fix in under a min so that is OK in my book.
WiFi and BT: works as intended. Connected the phone to multiple WiFi networks aswell as multiple BT units. All works without a hitch.
Mobile Data: Just to shed any misunderstanding (it has been a lot of questions about it here on the forums): Both SIM card slots works with 3G, not just at the same time! You have to choose which SIM to activate for 3G. I have done some measurements and i got about 2,5Mbit/s download. Not great but it will do for what i need it for. (Mainly email sync). I have had some strange issues with the carrier but i will make another thread for that.
Battery: Haven't seen any of the reported issues with the battery showing wrong charge percentage. I used the phone for two full days without charging. I sync 4 email accounts every 15mins 24/7, do some surfing, chatting and voice. So all in all i'm happy with the battery life.
Screendigitizer: Its accurate and fast. Sometimes when i type it makes double or even tripple 'taps' resulting in to many chars. The same goes for scrolling in lists. Sometime it opens the item you are 'touching' instead of continue to scroll. Don't know if this could be related to the fact i haven't removed the protective film on the screenprotector. (heheh)
I did a benchmark with AnTuTu the other night and i got a score of 15452. Its not in the top range but good enough for me.
Bottomline: I'm very pleased with this phone and would recommend anyone who want a phone of this size for a very reasonable price.
Thx for reading this far!
