I think it's best to stay with stock ROM of iNew V8. For me it has been great. No reason to change.
For root, I used vroot. It had to reboot phone several times. Or there should be iNew V8 CWM in inew forum. Then flash that with SP Flash Tool and install SuperSU from recovery.

Hmm... The shop shouldn't have anything to do with the ROM on the phone.
Which email client are you using, and which version of inew v8 ROM? (see about phone).

You are using gmail or email app? I use gmail, never any problem but haven't tried email app on v8.
For ROM, check "about phone" to see the date of your ROM. Just curious if it might be a July version of the ROM.

Okay, but look at the build date of the kernel. I'm not trying to be picky, just trying to see what version you have there were several updates that fixed various problems.
Also, using email app or gmail app?

Build number at the end should be the date. 2014xxxxx. If not, then build number is fine.
