Not sure about your laptops, but mine is 5+ years old and still runs as fast as modern laptops (first gen i5). Yes, things have improved in 5 years... especially the integrated GPUs, but I'm not sure anybody would even notice the difference with typical computing and multitasking. Benchmarking...Okay, yes there will show some difference.

The biggest upgrade you can make is SSD.
