The MTK6589T chip is already an overclocked version of the MTK6589, running at a 25% higher clock speed with a 30% faster GPU. Is it possible to overclock it further manually? Is it easy, safe, advisable?

Specifically, can I safely try overclocking my Tianhe H920+ phone?

I know very little about overclocking so this thread is also an attempt by me to learn about the topic. Feel free to correct anything I say that is wrong.

Well, the MTK6589T is just clocked at a higher frequency. I wouldn't say it's overclocked. I'm not sure if they improved the process or just use the same exact CPU which are stable at 1.5GHz. Similar to how Intel will put out a batch of CPUs and whichever ones are stable at higher clock speeds are put out that way. It's also possible MTK6589 was designed to work at 1.5+ and MTK6589 is underclocked.

Regardless, so far, no one I know has overclocked MTK6589.
