MTK6582 4001 ERROR SOLUTION - NIGHTMARE MTK USB PORT SOLUTION

Hi guys! I finally made it, my QD3G710-WT tablet from [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] is fixed. I want to say thanks to all those who made those awesome threads with the MTK tools and many Flash Tools versions, as well as those with MTK drivers. As a reward, I will show you what I did to get ride off of the 4001 Error, which means that there is no connection with the preloader of your device to begin the flashing.

The steps and solution are incredible EASY!.

STEP #1

First you need to find the proper MTK drivers for your device. If your tablet or phone doesn't show you a model or manufacturer, then you have to dismantle it and check the following chips:

1) CPU: it is usually in the upper-middle part of the tablet, it is small and it says MEDIATEK, following the name you will see a model "MTXXXX".
2) BOARD: the preloader of the firmwares usually contain the codename of the board they are supposed to work with. To know your board serial and model you just need to start looking at the upper borders of the board.

Sometimes, knowing the board model will be enough. Here a picture of my tablet, you will see the name of the board in the right-middle section of the board, very close to the camera socket.

STEP #2:

As soon as you get the right information about your board and components, you just need to put that thing on google!

As soon as you find your model, then just download it and download the MTK Drivers for Windows from any of the several threads you will find [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register].

STEP #3

If you are using Windows XP or 7, then it will be really easy for you to install the MTK unsigned/signed drivers (MTK USB PORT & MTK PRELOADER VCOM are the principal ones). In the same threads you found these drivers, you should find the tutorials of how to install them in case you're not a knower about Windows and driver installation procedures. In the case of Windows 8/8.1, there are many tutorials on the web of who to manually add the hardware through the device manager by disabling an startup feature of the O.S related to signed drivers.

STEP #4: OH MY GOSH! SO CLOSE!

In order to make it work (step 5) you need to know the following:

1) YOU NEED TO PULL THE BATTERY OUT OF THE PHONE/TABLET. In the case of the tablets, the battery has two +/- cables welded to the board, you just have to use a soldering tool to temporary remove them.

2) NOW WITH THE BATTERY OUT/DISCONNECTED, you must use a USB Cable and start playing with the buttons. Most MTK models work with the +Volume button, just keep it pressed and then plug in your USB cable to your tablet.

3) Windows will make a sound and will detect the tablet in MTK Meta Mode (it might install a driver called MTK USB PORT). Then it will disconnect your tablet.

STEP #5

1 - Download SP Flash Tool from [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register].

2 - Open it with administrator rights (W7-W8/8.1)

3- In the firmware .rar you downloaded in the first steps, there is .txt file called "scatter mt_6xxx". With the SP Flash Tool opened, you will see an option called "scatter file" which is accompanied of a browser bar. Click it and then select the scatter file of your firmware.

4- WE ARE ALMOST THERE! Now you have to press the "Download" button and then you must plug in your USB cable to the tablet by previously pressing the +V button.

Something like this will happen:

You will hear a ♫tutururu♫ sound (if you're using windows 8.1 Big Grin ), indicating that the MTK USB PORT has been connected.

Then it will disconnect it and then the MTK Preloader will connect!

Here comes the Kraken... there is no other sound than the MTK USB PORT disconnection... and then PUUUM!:

Can't look Can't look Can't look
Crazy
Don't worry, it has a solution.

The experience I lived with my model was very particular: I HAD TO RECONNECT THE BATTERY CABLES MANUALLY WITH MY OWN HANDS AS SOON AS I GOT THE MTK USB PORT CONNECTED.

AND THAT'S WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!

You will experience the must frightening 5:45 minutes of your life holding those cables without moving a single centimeter... the reward? THIS:

Pssst! This is just a reference image, I could not make it with my both hands busy.

And that's how you get ride of the horrible 4001 SP Flash Tool error!

Have questions? suggestions? Would you like to add something else?

Just tell me Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Wow, I did not see this, sorry.

I mean that you have to re-connect the battery as soon as the MTK USB Port connects/disconnects, so the tablet/phone can bring up the preloader (it can't do it without power). Of course, this is like the final step, since you had to be sure your battery is fully/almost fully charged.

Any other questions?

Sorry if it is too late! Sad

Just adding, disconnect one wire instead of both wires of the battery from the board or put a switch between one of the wires.

Yep! you're completely right! At that time I didn't know how to do that, but a switch helps a lot and make things easier.
