Hello

I managed to port a MIUI v6 (android 4.4.2) rom to my Kingzone N3 (not the plus version)
and everything is working fine except the No Baseband/IMEI sim problem (WIFI is working fine)

I have tried various imei recovery tips found on the internet but none of them have worked. (Maui 3g, imei.exe, sn writer, mtk droid tools, manual sp flash of nvram)

I think the problem is within the fact that none of the Radio functionality is installed.
When I go into engineering mode -> connectivity tab...CDI information is greyed out.

I tried restoring NVRAM backup I made with mtk droid tools but for some reason I am unable to get root connection (eventhou the phone is rooted with super su) the usual adbd not file, and unable to remount system error constantly occeurs, even tried the abd root command in terminal.

I also tried manually flashing the nvram.bin backup file made by mtk droid tools using SP flash tool but that didn't work either.

So I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions to get this fixed.
Thanx in advance
Hi X3nostar !

At first, I suggest you to download & install the next version of SP Flash Tool :

And then, I suggest you to download and flash (with SP Flash Tool) the next stock firmware :

Follow step by step the video-tutorial below (from minute 5:45 until the end of video) :

Hey Cleopatra

Thank you for your swift response.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I already have a back-up of my original rom (and the latest version of SP flash, downloaded from this site) and when going to the back-up, all the baseband/imei/radio problems are solved. So I have a fall back scenario.

However I am curious as to why flashing the ported rom, No radio get's installed (I am guessing the radio is not being installed at all because I am unable to see CDI information in engineering mode, it's completely grayed out)

Do you maybe have a clue where the install part for radio is located? maybe I can spot a difference between the stock rom and the ported rom, or maybe any other suggestions how to get the radio to install?

Thanx in advance
Hello again

Well after a LOT more experimenting with various roms, I found something I hope someone knows how to handle.

I have flashed quite some roms, most did not pass boot screen, but of all those that did...the same problem occurred, NVRAM section is always incomplete (missing md5 folder with the additional info for Imei and such) So SIMS don't get detected.

Flashing back to stock rom doesn't seem to have the same problem (Imei/sim detection working fine), so my question is there somewhere in the stockrom I can look to find some clues as to why NVRAM is always incomplete with any other Rom (maybe signature verification?)

Roms passed bootloader on KingZone N3:
Color OS KK by Tanveer (only worked with stock boot.img)
MIUI V6 for spice 509 (had to do a boot.img port as well)
Pure Stock 4.4.4 Rom For Maximus IX (only worked with stock boot.img)

Roms seem to run fine except for the part that Baseband null/Imei problem

If anyone has some clues where to look, would be much appriciated.

try to remove with root explorer the folder /data/NVRAM and wait some minutes, in some cases the kernel ricreate the folder with all information of the baseband of the phone.... if the problem remain try flashing the baseband using MTK Bird flasher
Hi simoneguarrera

Sorry voor de late response, was away.

I tried deleting the nvram folder but the returned folder was missing some information and still caused the baseband/IMEI not to work.

But I think I might have a clue why non of the ports is not working.
The Kingzone N3 LTE has two chipsets within it namely the: MT6582 AND the MT6290 (this second one is needed for the LTE connection, I am guessing all phone related stuff goes through this particular chipset)

Now seeing as when I port over a Rom the information for this second chipset is missing, this might be the cause that all solutions provided to restore the baseband/IMEI don't work.

What I am gonna do now is look at the structure of another similar dual chipset phone (Landvo L200G, Elephone P3000, Redmi 1S 4G) and try to port it's rom over..if it works then I at least know where to look at for finding a solution to my problem. if anyone has a backup of the phones mentioned above around would be much appriciated.

Will keep you posted on my findings.

Xeno
