Need help to see if my phone can be unbricked. It happened I think when the battery by accident fell out while the phone was booting. Never worked again!
I tried a flashtool with a ROM the seemed to be right but it would not flash.

I don't seem to be able to get it into recovery mode. The only life I can see from it is when I plug it into my computer the red light comes on and it connects and disconnects repeatedly My USBDview says it is the MTK65xx preloader connecting and dis-connecting.

Is there any hope? Opps! My phone is a Alps MTK6582 N9000

Thanks

Bob
Sounds like you can get preloader, therefore should be able to flash a factory stock ROM using SP Flash Tools? I think the difficult part would be to find the correct ROM for your device.

Thanks for your answer. Well my computer seems to see the cell phone okay but can't get SP flash tool to download the rom. Need Roms has three roms that should fit my cell. One is the stock Rom and there are two upgrades.
I am using Windows 8 maybe that is an issue it has been on other issues. I may try Windows 7 next.

SP Flash tool: when I hit the download button it all kind of grays out and when I plug in the cell phone to the USB the computer recognizes it but the flash tool seems to do nothing. I have left it on there for quite a while and no action.
Also my USBview indicates that there is an MTk device attaching.

Thanks for your information I will keep trying.

Hi boblx2 !

Do you have installed the proper ADB driver (USB) on your Win 8 ?
Do you have disabled Driver Signature Enforcement on your pc ?

STEPS :
Remember to disable Driver Signature Enforcement on Windows 8.
1) Press the Win + C keyboard combination to bring up the Charms Bar, then click on the Settings Charm.
2) We need to head into the Modern Control Panel, so go ahead and click on the Change PC settings link.
3) When the Control Panel opens, switch over to the “Update & recovery” section.
4) Then click on the Recovery option on the left hand side.
5) Once selected, you will see an advanced startup section appear on the right hand side. You will need to click on the “Restart now” button.
6) Once your Computer has rebooted you will need to choose the Troubleshoot option.
7) Then head into Advanced options.
8) Then Startup Settings.
9) Since we are modifying boot time configuration settings, you will need to restart your Computer one last time.
10) You will be given a list of startup settings that you can change (press the F7 key).

OTHER STEPS :
Right click and select Update Device Driver Software.
Select Browse my computer for driver software.
Select Let me pick from a list of drivers installed on my computer.
Select Show all and click next.
Click Have Disk, then Browse.
Go to your extracted folder and go into it, until a file called (android_winusb.inf ... for example) is there. Double click that.
Click OK and then Next (If it says not signed, just click next anyway).
Wait and if it says not signed, click install drivers anyway.

Thanks for your help. I think the drivers must be okay. I have used this phone with this PC for months it always shows up and I have been able to transfer files back and forth.
Right now if I plug it in with no battery the device manager shows and MTK device and it says "Preloader" but then it drops and says, "Unknown device". If I plug it in with the battery connected I see nothing.

Hi Bob !

Do you see "Android composite ADB interface" in the Device Manager of your pc ?

Do you have already tried to install CWM Recovery with MTK Droid Tool ? If you will be able to install CWM Recovery on your phone, you have to enter into recovery mode, and then wipe cache and wipe dalvik ... and then Factory Reset. Please follow step by step the video-tutorial below :

I downloaded the latest Flash Tool and drivers and was able to download the 2nd upgrade of my Rom that Need Rom had listed for my phone. The new Falsh tool loaded it onto my phone and said "download OK" but my phone still will not start it seems just as dead as ever.
Am I missing something. I thought when the Flash Tool said OK it would work.

Okay I managed to get the ROM loaded. Need ROM had three stock ROMs for my phone. It looked like the original plus two upgrades. I tried the original and the Flash tool said it had a bad Scatter file. So I tried the first upgrade and it said it had a partitioning error. So I tried the second upgrade and I was able to download that one to my phone with no trouble. However the phone would not start after that. My phone still talks to the Flash tool though so it is not a solid brick I guess.
I suppose what I need is a truly Stock rom for my phone or at least one that will work. According to Need Rom these were all for my phone but none of them appeared to work.

How do I find a stock ROM for my phone which is a Alps MTK6582 N9000 ?

thanks.

I can see how busy you must be since you are the top contributor on the site.
I am sorry but I cannot read that page it is in Chinese I think. I tried to translate it but nothing happened do you have an english version of that site?

Thanks again
