Full Version: THL T100S... black screen after factory reset

Hello all. This is my first post here. Please help and also forgive my noobness.

My THL T100S recently froze hard from a sleep state... I think it may have been the Yahoo Mail app which did it as that app's alert got me to check the device which then froze (solid). The screen was unresponsive but the buttons worked. At first I tried a hard reset which failed. Then, I removed and replaced the battery after 10+ minutes... also failed.

Eventually I got into the boot menu and attempted to do a factory reset which has left me with a blank screen. The device is powered on and visible in my device manager (as MT65xx Android Phone) although the displayed icon in the device manager indicates a driver error. Also displayed under the same tab are two instances of "Image Transfer" indicating question marks for their status.

Thanks for any help.
hi chaz47, welcome to chinaphonearena!
i'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Did you make any other changes to your phone that could have caused this?
It's hard to imagine a factory reset to fail. If you have a backup, try flashing that. If not, try this [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] if you can still get your phone to boot right now, do not flash the preloader.

for the driver errors, download usbdeview [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] run as administrator and uninstall the drivers that refer to your phone.
no need to install anything afterwards. just connect your phone to PC when you need to, and wait for windows to install everything (may take a bit long).

It will not boot. Black screen. My PC does recognize it as a USB device although I cannot mount it/access the files.

From what I read about this particular model, similar problems have occurred for others as well.
Okay, it seems you do need to install drivers. After using usbdeview do this:
Download the drivers from here [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
Open device manager and keep an eye on com ports section.
Remove your phone's battery and connect phone to PC.
If it shows under com ports as mt65xx or similar, right click on it and select update driver.
Browse to the location of pdanet drivers from the folder you downloaded.
After installing, flash your stock ROM.
