I have read some forums that this device is complicated to root and it will cause brick.

You may use KingoRoot for easy and smooth rooting. Its user friendly. You may want to search for it on google, i dont have the link, lol. I used that tool too with my MTK6572. It requires: your laptop, your battery, fully charge or at least 70%, and stable usb cable. It will automatically download supersu.
