Hi,
I would like to purchase a chinese tablet (or phablet) for car to use as sat nav only. I am looking for best value for money/performance for £40-£70.
My requirements are that its 7 inch, prefer android 4.4.2, and the gps can connect within 2 minutes and stay connected. I am experienced with flashing/rooting/tweaking.
Optional: Easy to find on internet a base rom.
I would consider a phablet (5 or 6 inch) if you feel it is much better value.

I'd consider the Lenovo K3 Note (5.5). Strong GPS and is a dual-SIM mobile phone. Good battery life. Great price. Lot's of ROM support. Android 5.1.

I saw a video kicking around YouTube where a kid installs a used Nexus 7 into his BMW as the head unit. The whole install is REALLY slick. He then uses the AutoMate app to make his own ghetto-awesome AndroidAuto install. If I remember right, he just bought a used Nexus 7 off of eBay for $50.
I really like the Chuwi Hi8 tablets I've been buying, but I don't believe they have a GPS sensor. If it's helpful, here's a list of 7 inch tablets with GPS running Android 4.4:

I don't work for Gearbest. I was just looking and thought maybe it'd be helpful for you to see all of them. If it were me, I'd go for a minimum quad core processor, and I'd add Android 5.0 and Android 5.1 to the search. But of course, I'm not you.
I'd be really stoked to see your project and what your plans are. I'd really like to attempt an install like this into a friend's vehicle. All I need is a friend who is willing to get on board with it. Hehe.

Quick edit. If it were me, I'd probably either buy a used Nexus, as mentioned before, or go with one of these in this order:
