Since I'm to lazy to fire my laptop, you need to install it through TRWP restore instead of flashing zip.
Alot is removed and alot is added, to my personal needs\liking.
Suggestions of apps and or mods are welcome.

I hope you can remove all the non-system and non-required apps so that the rom can be the lightest possible rom. including gApps pico.
then people can install more google apps if required or any other apps like, xposed, firewall, all-in-one gesture control, etc.

Flash the rom it's exactly what you say.
As light as possible, Android keyboard removed.

Sometimes when rebooting blackscreen before sim unlocking - set airplane ✈ mode and reboot.
with the VPN not working, does that mean firewalls do not work?
I remember using a non-root firewall and it didnt work on an Android TV box because the VPN was not available or something like that.

I didn't test if VPN worked on 2.6 BASE.
It asked me to encrypt/lock phone screen instead.
I now done with 'tweaking' 2.6 the way I want it.
I create new post with some screenshots and list of whats removed and what's added.
Blackscreen on reboot was an launcher bug, different launcher fixed it.
I've now added smart launcher (due it's lightweight) although I prefer Z launcher more.
