For some, installing adb drivers can be a problem. This guide will show you how to properly install them.

This is for all phones, not just OnePlus X. It's the newest version and will work with Lollipop and even Marshmallow.

1. download the auto adb installer, that is in this folder (thanks to @Gizbeat for upload):

2. For all 3 questions, select "Y". What we're doing here is installing adb drivers, adb command setup system wide, and copying fastboot tool to c:/adb (or whatever your system drive is:/adb)

That wasn't difficult, was it. Now you have adb and fastboot and are ready to do things like boot and flash twrp and cwm and different rom pieces such as boot.img or system.img.

If you run into problems with drivers on 64-bit Windows 8, 8.1, 10, you might need to disable driver signature enforcement:
