LeTV Le 1s (X500)

I am new here. I am one of the Hungarian translators of the EUI and big fan of LeTV phones. Hope you will enjoy my review.

I would like to write a small review from my latest phone order. I decided in the last December that I would like to replace my phone so I started to check the available phones around 200 USD. I really like to order phones from China because there you can get very good phones for good price. So I started to check what can I find for my money. What is LeEco?
After some search I found out that this is one of the biggest online video company in China and in 2015 they have decided to make and sell phones and they have big plans to be one of the biggest smartphone company in China. According to the articles they are on a good way. They have already sold more than 4 million phones in a short time.
They have very agressive pricing because they want to grow fast.
So I decided to order this beautiful phone for myself and for my wife from SPEmall with EU Express shipping to Hungary and I got it in 10 days.

The design
When I got my phone and grabbed it my first feeling was that they have sent me an another phone with 500 USD price.
I didn't believe that I can buy this build quality in this price segment.
The phone has full-metal unybody design available in 2 colors. I've ordered the golden one and I think it was a good choice because with this color the phone is beautiful. It feels very solid and very good quality. The "bezel-less" design is perfect. Actually there are bezels, but very thin compared to the most of the smartphones in the market.




Software
The phone runs Android 5.0.2 with EUI on top. EUI is a special user interface from LeTV. It is part of the company's ecosystem. Looks very good and simple and runs very smooth thanks to the strong hardware.
Almost every application is built by LeTV. They are very simple and usable. In my opinion this is much better interface than the stock Android.






Display and sound
Le 1s' display is quite beautiful . The 5.5-inch display has fullHD with 403ppi. The ultra-slim bezels not only give a large screen real estate but also make the device look more appealing to the eye. The invisible capacitive touch buttons are lit up only when the screen is turned on.
Le 1s has 80% NTSC colour gamut and 500nit brightness adjustment that ensure non-reflective readability even in sunlight, which we tested to our complete satisfaction. It has good viewing angles. The display has built with in-cell technology which means there are more smaller gap between the glass and the screen so you will get less reflections on the screen.
The display is protected by Gorilla glass 3.
There is grills on the bottom of the phone but actually only one of them is a speaker. It is very loud and it has very good quality.

Hardware
The heart of the system is a Mediatek Helio X10 (MT6795T) SOC which runs on 2.2 GHZ on each A53 cores. It is very strong in this price segment. It can easily handle any task what you are running on the phone thanks to the strong SOC and the 3GB of memory.






Camera
The rear camera is made by Samsung. It's an ISOCELL camera which means it can capture better photos in low light environment. Acutally this is the weak point of the phone. In low light the pictures are too noisy. In daylight it makes very good and detailed pictures.
I believe that will be better. The photos are better and better after every new version of EUI. I think the engineers at LeEco working hard to make it much better.






Fingerprint sensor
The phone has a built-in fingerprint sensor on the backside which is very accurate. You can register 5 fingers and you can use it for unlocking the phone and capturing photos. In the next version of EUI you will be also able to use it for lock your applications one by one.

Battery
The phone has a 3000 mAh built-in battery with MTK PumpXpress 3.0 fast charging technology.
The phone can hold 2 days with average usage but the screen on time is around 4,5-5 hours depending on your usage.
LeEco works hard to improve the battery life and I can say that is really improved in the latest versions of EUI. In the night the phone lose 2-3% of battery in idle. I think that is not bad.

Conclusion
I am very satisfied with this phone and I started to really love the LeEco brand. They are selling not only phones, but televisions, bicycles, electric car technology (with Aston Martin) etc.
I really love the design and the EUI and I can say this is my best phone in the last years. With this agressive pricing I am sure that we will hear about LeEco in the global markets.
