Oooo K!

Just had delivery of my new set of tools to aid the removal of the screen...

Let the fun and games commence...obviously with copious amounts of swearing!

I shall update as and when I break either the phone or the tools...

Well isn't today one of the best days ever...

Yes you've guessed correctly...I've managed to replace the screen and it all works perfectly well. My main concern was taking the back off...course it won't come off as it's made from one piece of metal/aluminum!?

I used the little plastic pic and the little metal sharp chisel tool to carefully and slowly take off the front screen which came off fairly easy helped with the hair dryer. It was a lot harder putting everything back in but patience played a big part in doing this.

I'll attempt to post a few pics which will show what I mean...

Nooooooooooo!!!AngryAngry

You won't believe what I've gone and done...

I was at work about to clean the screens of both my mobile and Ipad when I stupidly dropped my ipad straight onto my mobile and yep...it's bloody well cracked again.

I'm thinking that the new screen wasn't on a par strength wise with the old one hence the damage. Now I'm not too happy about this as you can imagine and the thought of buying another new screen and waiting another 2 weeks doesn't fill me with joy.

So, on that note can anyone recommend a new phone on a similar par with the IUNI U2 ie...

At least a 4.7" screen upto a 5.5", at least a 2.2ghz processor, good camera (16mp+), newish android version, 3gb ram/32gb rom...I'm not too bothered about fast charging, nfc, wireless charging etc but having a 4g function would be good...I'm on the O2 network (UK)

Thanks for all the previous help and for the new stuff too.

PS Does anybody rate the UMI Super as that one has somewhat taken my fancy?!

Umi is of questionable build, but each model can sometimes be a whole new ball game, so the Super may be okay... But, at least one review has it with a weak camera.

GizBeat has one on the way, so I'd wait for the conclusion there.
Yep, breaking the screen again was rather irksome to say the least.

Just read a review of the UMI Super and it does somewhat lambast the camera which admittedly doesn't come across very well but an update might rectify that.

I'll bung another post in the 'which phone' thread/s and at least a perusal through all the different posts to see if anything takes my fancy.
People are always hopeful that a "software update" will fix the issue, but it rarely does. This normally comes down to sensor quality.

Ulefone Future looks like a good bet. GizBeat will be reviewing that, and you can't go wrong with Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro (though may take some minimal effort to get Global ROM installed if that's important to you). All of these will have 4G/LTE for UK.
