I've very recently bought a xiaomi redmi note 3 pro.

Ive tried two methods to verify this product is real and note fake

1 Downloaded MI verification app

2 Using the website [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

Result for the app

Quote: Device's performance does not match factory specifications. Contact our Support Team or visit your local Mi Service Center to learn more. View nearby service centers

Result for the website verification

Quote:Your IMEI doesn't exist, please verify and enter again

Has anybody else had this problem, both of these methods are supposed to be official Xiaomi ways to check if device is fake.

Can anybody with a redmi note 3 pro confirm or otherwise if the have managed to verify that there device passes the test.

Thanks
I get the same result but mine is genuine. Try verifying with AIDA64 or Antutu. If the fakers used a SD650 and 4000mah battery then kudos to them because they made a great phone.
Thanks for the reply and confidence check.

I've no reason to believe my phone is a fake, it was bought from a site sponsor.

But I’m bored with the MIUI on it, and it won't update as it isn’t an "official" ROM apparently (MIUI Global 7.2, 7.2.13.00 LHOCNCL), plus CM13 supposedly has better memory management, and I love the customability (even a word lol) of CM roms.

Only reason I checked was/is that it will brick the device if I try to put on a new ROM and it turned out to be fake.

If it is a fake it is still amazing, think I will give it a try and put a CM13 ROM on it.

Many Thanks.
Highly highly unlikely it's fake. I actually think stories of fake Redmi are fake Big Grin. The phone isnt worth enough money to put effort into producing a good clone.

Run Antutu in an air-conditioned room it should score 70k or thereabouts.

I can help you get onto official Global if you want. Best to try and unlock bootloader first if you're not already.

CM might be good to try.
Many thanks

Will have to obtain a copy of Windows this weekend to try unlocking bootloader and flashing a new rom, I only use linux and can already feel a headache at the thought of using Windows again Smiling
Many problems being reported with battery calibration, fingerprint and various other functions not working properly. Personally I don't think it's worth it as miui is fine as it is.
Thanks for the advice.

Ive been a long time lurker on xda and flashed plenty of roms on a few phones, I'm going to have a lurk on the Redmi section and see whats what, only today did I find out the phone is codenamed "Kenzo"

I just cant help myself trying out different roms, even when i find a good one i'm lucky if i stick a month with it.

I have the same problem with cars, 6 months and i "need" a new one
