Quote:Qualcomm is also focused on keeping dominant on the low end. Its Snapdragon 200 (1.4 GHz quad-core, Adreno 203) will be aimed at sub-$100 USD smartphones, its Snapdragon 400 (1.4 GHz quad-core or up to 1.7 GHz dual-core, plus Adreno 305) will be aimed at $100-300 USD phones.

a glimpse into the chinaphone future maybe? looks like well matched competition for the mediatek octacore chip.

remember, snapdragon Krait chips are up to 1.7x as fast as mediatek's cortex A7 at the same clock rate.
This sounds really promising for the few years of smartphones. I question their pricing breakout, though. Sub $100 USD smartphones? Those are at best a rarity right now.

humm, wonder if this is talking about the same chips. They're called snapdragons, but are based on the cortex A7 budget architecture. Granted, qualcomm has called A5 and A8 based chips snapdragons in the past.

Not quite as exciting as the idea of a flood of cheap "real" krait snapdragons, but still pretty nice. 18000 on antutu is nothing to sneeze at.
